Resumo: At the present moment, from the point of view of the infrastructure, the organisation has an office headquarter completely equipped to support volunteering activities for youths with reduced opportunities. In the past, there were other persons with reduced opportunities who worked or carried out their activities in this headquarter (youths pertaining to national minorities, youths from the countryside, blind persons, youths with motor function problems or with minor psychiatric disabilities). Even so, the association does not have the personnel or equipment necessary for the carrying out in good conditions of the activity of persons with severe motor function problems.
Regarding the experience of the members and volunteers of the association working with youths with reduced opportunities we can say that the majority (80%) of them have already worked with this category of youths, either in teams formed on the occasion of implemented projects, or by coordinating and supporting them in volunteering activities. Moreover, within the team there are persons who can deal directly with youths with sight deficiencies (2 persons have a working experience with them), with youths wit hearing deficiencies (a person who knows sign language and a speech therapist), with youths with motor function problems (2 experienced persons) and with youths belonging to ethnic minorities (at least 6 experienced persons).
Also, the association has many human resources available to support the activity of youths with reduced opportunities: 4 mentors, 1 coach, 3 psychologists, 2 psychotherapists and 1 speech therapist. Even so, all the need that might appear will be contracted or assured by the association in its quality as a host association.
Tarefas: The most important aspect is the working space of the volunteer. At present, the association disposes of a fully equipped office space (calculus technique, furniture, materials for photoprojections and photocopies, sound system, writing pannels, consumables etc.), including a meeting hall and utilities (telephone, wireless internet, fax machine etc.). The headquarters of the association is equipped specifically for volunteering activities and for activities based on methods of non-formal education, being a welcoming one, full of colour and life. This is the place where around 6-8 persons carry on their daily activity and out of these persons 2-3 do so permanently. In this space, the EVS volunteer will have, from the moment of arrival, his/her own working desk and complete access to all the existing resources (including access keys and passwords for electronic e-mail accounts, for the fax machine, for the wireless internet etc., thus being responsible for them).
Beside this working space, the volunteer will benefit from a second working office within the apartment where he is accommodated, an office which will have wireless internet, a telephone and a fax machine, thus the volunteer being able to choose at times to complete his/her activity hours from home, when the context demands it.
An EVS volunteer can have several roles, one at a time or simultaneously, among which: activity coordinator (specific to the volunteering project or undertaken by the volunteer), coordinator of volunteers (having other volunteers under his care), coordinator of small projects which are social, educational and for the support of youths in the development process, image coordinator in English at an international level for some activities, fundraiser, participant as a representative of the association at different events, forming sessions and competitions, organizer for informal events, assistant in the preparing of young volunteer from the association regarding their participations at international experiences, research and compile good-case practices on learning processes from other countries and other organizations (youth opportunities, useful information for youths, statistics, data centralization etc.), helping in local and national youth exchange projects, searching information on the internet, about some possibilities of collaboration at an international level, initiating new youth exchanges through by generating and managing international cooperation, visits and meetings with local organizations to promote the organisation together with a direct representative from the team, promoting volunteering to youths from that community and contributing to the organisation of different events for youths (workshops, seminars, career fairs), organizing workshops, presentations about his/her country and culture, visiting the country, the city and getting to know the hosting culture, assisting in product development towards our external stakeholders and market research, co-organize and co-facilitate conferences and seminars for the local community, as many other roles which will appear in the context of the volunteering activity that is to be unfolded.
Condições: The living space of the volunteer will be assured in 2 or 3 room-apartments (according to the number of EVS volunteers involved in the associations’ projects), in the centre of Cluj-Napoca. These apartments will be rented specially for the activity of the volunteers and will ensure the necessary confort for living in good conditions: each volunteer will cohabit with one or two same sex volunteers, they will have their own room and common utilities (bathroom, kitchen, appliances etc.). In case of a specific and justified demand (based on cultural differences, religion, sexual orientation, disabilities etc.), the volunteer can choose their own living space (a studio or a one-room apartment).
