Resumo: Lodz is the third largest city in Poland, located in the centre part of the country.
Lodz always was a multinational and multicultural city and today we are proud to keeps that tradition. It's a city with unique atmosphere and with many historical buildings.Piotrkowska Street is the main artery and attraction of the city, stretching from north to south for over five kilometres, it's one of the longest commercial streets in the world. Although Lodz doesn't have any hills nor any large body of water, we still can be close to nature in one of the many city's parks, most notably is Lagiewniki (the largest city park in Europe). Lodz has one of the best museums of modern art in Poland and unique Textile Museum.
Lodz is also the academic centre with several public and privet Universities and colleges. Probably the most famous is the Film School from which graduated such well-known directors as Roman Polanski or Krzysztof Kieslowski.
The largest 19th Century textile factory complex which was built by Izrael Poznanski has been turned into a shopping centre called "Manufaktura" which is by far the best example on how the mall should be incorporated into the city's architecture.
Main attractions of our city are:
- monuments of industrial architecture
- festivals ( Camerimage, International Festival of Four Cultures, Fotofestival, Fashion festival
- The most famous Film School in Europe
- Pubs
- Theatres, cinemas, museums, sports halls and concert halls
- Cultural and entertainment complexes - Manufaktura and Port Lodz
