Resumo: The hosting organization is a not-for-profit association operating in the field of social assistance since 1997. It originates from the merger of three charities, the oldest of which was founded in 1636. The organization's mission is to support kids and youth in their growth as well as to support families in the education of their children. The organization reaches its aims by carrying out the following activities:
- Two nursery schools, named Mignolo e Merlino, which can host up to 34 children aged 3 months to 3 years.
- One crèche, named Marameo, which can host up to 25 children aged 13 months to 6 years.
- One after-school service, which can host up to 150 children aged 6 to 16 years. This is not a simple after-school club where children are assisted in doing their homework, it is actually an educational centre.

Indeed, once they have completed their homework for the day, the children are offered various ludic and educational activities supervised by professional educators.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Ideal candidates are empathetic, dynamic, curious, and responsible, ready to bring new ideas and set a good example. This is an opportunity for personal growth and to make a difference in the community. This project is for you if you like being time with kids and youngsters because you will spend most of your volunteering time with them.

Tarefas: The volunteers will have the chance to daily contribute to the solidarity activities in the fields of social assistance and education, aimed at the local community. The volunteering experience aims to promote the youth emancipation in solidarity services for youth.
Volunteers will work at the after school service (pick up children from school, support for lunch-break, help out with homework, organise and supervise educational and recreational activities), at the baby-parent community (organise and supervise educational and recreational activities with children, support mums and their kids for travel in the city) and at the Youth Centre (promote educational and recreational activities for youth).

Condições: Volunteers will live in a small accommodation owned by the organization, with private bedrooms and shared kitchen, bathroom and living area. The house is next to the organization headquarters, 5 minutes from the city centre and train station, and has Wi-Fi. Bicycles are available on request. A doctor is available if needed. On working days, volunteers can have lunch at the in-house canteen.
