Resumo: The target group of our program is the elderly people with special needs who need help, have problem with their health, with the physical condition of their body, who can’t do the everyday living activities by themselves (cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping, etc.). The volunteers can help us to be able to give help more elderly people, they will participate in visiting and helping in the elderly people’s homes, taking care of them, paying attention, helping in the assistants’ work (bring the medicines, the food, they can clean the house, cook for them, pay the bills etc.), furthermore the volunteers help in the centre of elderly.

Condições: Accommodation and the facilities: There are three opportunities for accommodation. All the apartments are fully furnished. One of them has four rooms, three bathrooms, a big living room and a kitchen with all cooking facilities. The other apartment has three rooms, two bathrooms, a big living room and a kitchen with all cooking facilities. And third apartment has two rooms, one bathroom, a big living room, dining room and a kitchen with all cooking facilities There is a free Wireless internet access, phone for incoming calls, TV set, a DVD home cinema, Ps2, a washing machine, a microwave, a toaster...etc in both apartments. The bed-linen is provided; the volunteer should bring towels.

The volunteer will share the room with one to three other volunteers.

The volunteers are not allowed to keep any pets in the house; they should not make noise between 14:30- 17:30 and after 23:00. Volunteers cannot host anybody in the house (friends, other volunteers, family members..etc).
Number of the volunteers: There are up to 10 volunteers can stay in the house in the same period.

Monthly allowance: The pocket money is 95 Euro/ month; the money allocated for food is 120 Euro/ month. The volunteer will receive the first half of the pocket money and the food money on the 1st of the month and the second half on the 16th of the month. It is required the volunteers to gather all the receipts of the food money.

Opening a bank account: The volunteers will be assisted to open their own bank account and receive a card in order to receive their monthly allowances and food money in this way.

Formação: The volunteer will receive a 50 hours course of the Greek language with specialised teacher from the beginning his/her stay, if he/she would like to continue the language course after the 50 hours, it is possible.

Moreover he/she will receive a course of youth work and cultural lessons containing learning about traditional Greek costumes, holidays etc. The volunteer will also have assistance of a social worker in his/her daily tasks.

Besides the Greek lessons the volunteer will have a course about intercultural learning and learning outcomes regarding Youthpass certificate.
