Resumo: (elderly people)
The nursing home belongs to the Diaconesses management association (a non-profit organization founded in 1998). It was built in 1962 and completely renovated in 2000. The nursing home aims to welcome individuals or couples over the age of 60, regardless of their level of independence, whether they are independent, have low dependency, or require significant care.
All the work of our qualified staff is centered on providing the best possible care for each resident, creating a suitable living environment for everyone, regardless of their physical or mental dependency. We want each of our residents to feel "at home" but also comfortable "with us," in a family atmosphere.
Welcoming, support, respect, dialogue, and attentive listening are the core values of our ethos. The current capacity is: - 99 beds + 4 temporary beds for the retirement home - 36 beds for the long-term care unit - 12 places for the Alzheimer's unit (the "Home") - 17 apartments, divided into four two-bedroom apartments and thirteen one-bedroom apartments, which can accommodate 21 people in the sheltered housing.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: The volunteer will have various missions :
- Go along with residents on outings (errands, hairdresser, stroll, cinema)
- Help residents in their daily life (moving around, eating, getting up)
- Take part in activities (music, creative workshops, games, gymnastics)
- Offer time for discussion, newspaper reading
- The volunteer can suggest projects according to their interests
