Resumo: The hosting organization is a cultural association was founded in 2011 as an informal group of young lovers of their territory and eager to dynamize the local community, organizing cultural, sporting and artistic activities for the benefit of all concerned.

Since 2011, the group, made up of social educators, professors, psychologists and fans of European politics, has carried out various projects for the promotion and dissemination of European culture and citizenship among young people, participating in many international exchanges that have allowed, in years, more than 50 young people from the area to be able to live a unique and deeply motivating integration experience.
Since 2016 the organization has been established as a non-profit cultural association to continue our mission of promoting non-formal education among young people through the use of European methodologies and opportunities for international mobility.

To date, our association deals with training (use of social networks, improve CV and cover letter, look for work in Europe, look for international mobility opportunities, present a European project, etc.), promotion of European values, non-formal education and development of personal skills among young people at risk of social exclusion. At the same time, we carry out campaigns on social networks for the promotion of our territory at an international level and we collaborate with various artistic, cultural, social and tourist associations in the province. Our group is aware of the real needs of the area in which it lives and for this reason it wants to bring its experience to the community to contribute to its gradual development and to the improvement of society.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

We are looking for two motivated young women who are open, communicative and willing to take an active role in the project. Since there is already a female volunteer living in the shared apartment, we are looking for female participants in order to ensure a comfortable and suitable living environment for all volunteers.

The ideal volunteers should feel comfortable speaking in public, interacting with different people and working in an international environment. We are especially interested in participants with good communication skills, confidence in using social media, and some experience or strong interest in video editing, content creation and digital storytelling.
During summer, the main activity will be tourist welcome and support at the local infopoint. The volunteers will welcome tourists and visitors, provide basic information about Messina and the local area, support the promotion of cultural and tourist activities, and help create simple communication materials connected to the territory.
During the rest of the project, the volunteers will support the organization in communication, youth and community activities. Their tasks may include creating posts, photos, reels and short videos for social media, helping with video editing, writing short articles about local activities and European opportunities, experimenting with podcast creation, supporting the organisation of events and workshops, welcoming international participants, and promoting Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities. T
hey may also support intercultural activities, youth workshops, local campaigns and small community initiatives. Volunteers will be encouraged to propose their own ideas and develop personal projects connected to communication, youth participation, culture, tourism, social inclusion or active citizenship.
A good command of English is required, as it will be used for communication within the international team and with participants from other countries. Basic knowledge of Italian is not required, but it will be considered an advantage. Previous experience in the field is welcome but not essential, while motivation, flexibility, responsibility and willingness to learn are very important.

Tarefas: he volunteers will join our team and support social, cultural, educational and community activities. There is already one volunteer in the project, so they will be part of an international team. Tasks may include helping with local events, youth activities, Erasmus+ and ESC promotion, social media content, intercultural workshops, tourist welcome activities during the cruise season, and support for international participants.
Volunteers can also propose their own ideas and small initiatives. Previous experience is not required, but motivation, flexibility, curiosity and willingness to learn are important. Tasks will be adapted to the volunteers’ interests, skills and learning goals.
The project is a chance to improve communication, teamwork, intercultural and organisational skills while discovering Sicilian culture and local community life.

Condições: Accommodation is provided in a shared flat in the city centre. Each volunteer will have her own single room and will share common spaces such as the kitchen and bathroom with the other volunteers. The flat is close to shops, services and the organisation’s office, so many places can be reached on foot. Volunteers will receive food allowance and pocket money according to ESC rules. Local transport will be supported when needed for project activities.
