Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for a volunteer who can assist with everyday tasks and contribute positively to our community. We value responsibility, autonomy, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit. It is also important that volunteers feel comfortable getting around by bike (as public transportation is limited) and enjoy working outdoors, especially in the school garden (e.g., preparing soil, planting, weeding, watering). As role models for our students, we also ask that volunteers avoid using their mobile phones in front of the children.
Tarefas: · In-classroom support: Assisting teachers during class time with students, helping facilitate learning and classroom dynamics.
· Vacation Schools (Christmas, Easter, Summer): Support in organizing and preparing spaces and materials.
· AMPA (Parents' Association) Events: Assistance once a month in the afternoon with event organization for the school community.
· School Opening and Closing: Punctuality is essential.
· School Space Improvements: Painting walls, assembling furniture, and naturalizing learning spaces.
· School Garden: Tasks related to planting, watering, and harvesting.
· School Magazine and Radio: Collaboration or creation of a specific section or podcast about European programs.
· Daily Welcome and Dismissal: Accompanying children as they arrive and leave the classroom.
· Lunchtime Support: Assisting with lunch logistics—setting/clearing tables, preparing food, and cleaning.
· Library Supervision: Ensuring order and silence during recess.
· Care of Shared Spaces: Supporting tidiness and organization throughout the school.
· Workshops: Participation and organization of thematic workshops (e.g., cooking, crafts, music, theater, dance, art, podcasting, reading).
· Open Day: Helping prepare and manage this key community event, which may take place on a Saturday morning.
· Field Trips: Participation in school outings focused on play, environmental care, and waste collection.
· Recycling: Supporting waste sorting and environmental education.
· Artistic Activities: Engaging in creative projects (drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, collage, etc.) to enrich and beautify school spaces.
· Educational Materials: Helping create hands-on and manipulative learning materials.
· Learning Environments: Preparing and organizing classrooms and common areas.
· Community Engagement: Sharing experiences with the local community and neighboring groups.
· Education for Sustainable Development: Supporting activities related to circular economy, local and seasonal food consumption, bike promotion, and nature-friendly leisure initiatives.
· Positive Climate: Helping to foster an environment of respect, empathy, inclusion, and peaceful conflict resolution.
· Collaboration with Local Associations: Participating in other community volunteering projects and partnerships with local organizations.
· Support for Other School Projects: Assisting with various educational and extracurricular initiatives run by the school.
Additional Project Involvement: Volunteers will also participate in activities that promote European values and mobility opportunities, including:
· Promotion of European projects and mobility programmes among young people in the Region of Murcia and the users of the organization.
· Participation in workshops and presentations on the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme in youth organizations, secondary schools in the city of Murcia, and at the University.
· Creation of monthly content to share updates about their work and involvement, contributing to the visibility and dissemination of project results.
Our volunteering project seeks to promote the values promoted by the EU and the ESC Programme, such as solidarity, equality, justice, respect, fight against exclusion and xenophobia, etc.
Horário: The volunteer will take part in a wide range of activities, with a weekly schedule of 30 to 38 hours. Working hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Occasionally, about once a month, it may be necessary to support activities in the afternoon organized by the school community. In addition, volunteers may occasionally be asked to attend events held on Saturdays, depending on the needs of the school.
Holidays: According to the rules of ESC, volunteers must have 2 working days off per month
Condições: Accommodation: The volunteers will live in a room in a shared flat located in the city together with other volunteers. The room and the flat will be fully equipped, and electricity, water, gas and internet will be covered by the lead organization (till the amount of 30€ per volunteer).
Deposit: The volunteer will have to make a 370€ deposit that will be reimbursed once the project is ended and the volunteer leaves tidy, clean, and with no damage in the private room and common areas, and if the volunteer doesn't leave the project without a justified reason before it ends.
Pocket money: The volunteer will receive the monthly rate foreseen by the Spanish NA, 186€ per month.
Food: The volunteer will receive 184€ for food every month.
Local transport: Every volunteer will have a chance to choose a bike or bus card provided by the hosting organization if it is needed.
