Resumo: (Day care center)

Our Day activity center was established in 2001 as a day center for youth and people with disabilities (complex, intellectual disorder, physical) from the age of 18. Disabled people have various disabilities, light and heavy, however, they are very friendly and creative. The institution is a methodological center for social work, has an award for work with young people, services are licensed by the laws of Lithuania. Currently, the institution is working to obtain the EU EQUASS Quality Certificate for Social Services. 30 disabled people visit the center every day, with about 15 employees working with them. The staff is friendly and has the help of young local volunteers. We are open, communicative, and ready to accept you into our team.
Our organization already has some experience in hosting international volunteers, in the past, we hosted volunteers from Latvia through Socrates/Erasmus student mobility program and we have local volunteers of all ages from universities, colleges, and schools that regularly volunteer at the institution. As well we currently have a volunteer youth team from Spain. We had four volunteers from the European solidarity corps program from Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey.

Perfil: - Main Selection criteria:
· 18-30 years old;
· Interested and motivated in working with disabled people;
· Interested in intercultural learning (are open to new cultures and are willing to learn from their participation);
- Patient and responsible;
- Would like to help to create and implement projects, initiatives, activities for young people with disabilities;
- Basics in English leagues;
- Service activities may include arts and culture, activities with young people or older people, in the fields of creative employment, sports, and leisure.

Tarefas: - Activities during the volunteering period will be organized in the institution, community groups, meetings, social activities.
- Actively participate in daily activities, organized events, they will be assistants of youth with disabilities and social work trainees. Daily activities will consist of art groups - ceramics, arts, sewing, cooking, yard management, sports, physiotherapy, theater, alternative dance, discussions, games, creativity, and other activities.
- Help organize important events such as the Tolerance Day, the International Day for the Remembrance of People with Disabilities, the Christmas Day, the Valentine's Day, a celebration of friendship, city fairs, and celebrations or programs that will be prepared for youth with disabilities in other cities of Lithuania, in other social institutions.
- Responsible for preparing and delivering presentations about their culture at events and informal meetings with city schools. They will have all our support and help with the necessary assistance, materials, and communication with the representatives of the planned organizations where they will deliver their presentation.
- They will have the opportunity to share their own ideas and with the support of the Day activity center staff will be able to implement them.
- Will be given the opportunity to spend their leisure time with local informal youth groups, thus knowing Lithuania, Lithuanians, Lithuanian traditions and culture, ways of communicating.
- All activities will be discussed individually (at the time of arrival) At the beginning, we will show where volunteers will spend their work and leisure time. They will be able to participate in all areas of our organization and the local community. Volunteers will have free weekends. If some activities are carried out during the weekend, will have spare time during the week (this will depend on the agreement at the time of arrival).
- They will be involved in the activities throughout the year, they will be the same as other employees of our institution. The institution will be flexible in ensuring good volunteering conditions.

Horário: Will work from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm including a lunch break. Saturday and
Sunday will be days off.
