Resumo: (Wellbeing and Sports for Multicultural Women in Finland)
The hosting organization is an NGO established in 2009 to create more opportunities for women from diverse backgrounds to engage in sports activities.
Our mission is to promote health, wellbeing and physical activities of women and girls through sports, regardless of their religion, skin colour or cultural background with aim to ensure and increase equal participation of women and girls in sports and hobbies.
We have expertise in understanding gender and culturally bonded characteristics related to sports environment and in integrating gender- and culturally sensitive methods. The organization activities enhance health and wellbeing of multicultural women and their families through sports and health education for families. We strive to engage in our activities the women who need support in integrating healthy lifestyle or sports to their everyday life.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for a motivated volunteer, interested in the scope of our activities, has a good level of English, has good communication skills, works well in teams.
The volunteer should be able to take initiative, work independently and be open to discover other cultures and different ways of doing things. Good organizational, IT and social media skills are an advantage.
Tarefas: The volunteer will have the opportunity to learn about the NGO sector and international cooperation by supporting the organization’s staff in projects and daily communications. The role is designed to be an educational experience where the volunteer assists the team in creating social media content and keeping project documentation organized.
The volunteer’s time is divided into learning and assisting as follows:
- 60% supporting different project tasks
- 40% supporting communications and social media
The volunteer works under the guidance of our professional staff. This role is strictly supportive and does not involve independent responsibility for large projects or professional-level accountability.
Main Tasks and Learning Opportunities
A. Support in Documentation & Meetings ( Projects)
- Assisting staff in preparing draft meeting minutes and agendas.
- Helping to organize attendance lists and internal notes.
- Supporting the team in formatting project presentations and reports.
B. Assisting in Partner Coordination
- Supporting communication between Monaliiku and European partners under supervision.
- Helping to update shared partner lists and contact forms.
- Assisting in tracking project deadlines alongside the project coordinator.
C. Supporting Social Media & Project Communications
- Content Assistance: Helping the team brainstorm and draft ideas for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Visual Support: Assisting in the creation of simple graphics or short videos for social media (e.g., using Canva).
- Impact Storytelling: Helping to collect and draft short updates or "success stories" from our activities to be shared with the community.
- Newsletter Support: Assisting in the technical assembly of newsletters.
D. Material & Administrative Support
- Helping with producing project materials and briefing slides.
- Supporting the staff in gathering information/research for new projects .
- Organizing digital files in Teams/Drive to ensure a smooth workflow for the team.
- Helping with practical arrangements for meetings (logistics, materials).
E. General Activities
- To get a full picture of our work in inclusion and sports, the volunteer may also:
- Assist in practical tasks during group activities or sports events.
- Support the team in event logistics and welcoming participants.
- Contribute to a positive office atmosphere through small daily practical tasks.
Horário: Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours per day, 5 days per week).
Weekly rest: 2 consecutive days off (usually weekends).
Holidays: 2 extra days of holiday earned per month (total 18 days during the service).
The timing is agreed upon with the Managing Director.
We are looking for participants from countries in the European Union and Ukraine.
Condições: Accommodation will be in a shared apartment, volunteer will have their own room. Volunteer receives food money to buy and cook food for themselves.
The Volunteer will receive:
- Monthly food allowance: Approximately 248 euro per month.
- Pocket money: According to ESC standard, 7 euros per day.
- Transportation: Local transportation card for the Helsinki area.
- Mentoring: Regular support from a designated mentor and the Managing Director.
