Resumo: (Ecological Gardening and farming in a rural area)

The leader organization is a non-profit and non- governmental organization, which has been developing projects in order to promote non-formal and informal learning since 2014.
Main aims of the organization are:
a) To promote formal, non-formal and informal learning projects
b) To create learning bridges in between different cultures.
c) To promote European and international mobility.
d) To collaborate with organizations, private and public, in the promotion of social, educative and cultural projects that promote the complete development of people
e) To promote equality and social justice through national and international development cooperation projects.
f) To collaborate with initiatives that aim to create organization, networks and local working groups related to the aims of the association.
g) To boost the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities.
h) To enhance participation and associationism.
i) To support the creation and management of new associations.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Due to the nature of this volunteer project, a strong willingness to work outside sometimes in cold and hot weather, connect with nature, and to get your hands dirty will be important. Certain level of flexibility and autonomy will be important, as the tasks will vary a lot depending on the season and connecting with the different teams. The village is a very small town, far from the city of Madrid… this is not a project for volunteers that are looking for an intense social life in a big city. High motivation to develop the project in a rural area in the mountains. In Parkeri, we believe in INCLUSION, GENDER EQUITY, SOCIAL JUSTICE, SUSTAINABILITY and we have an ANTI-RACIST and DECREASING approach as organization principles.

Tarefas: The tasks are related with supporting Ana in caring for her organic farm (vegetable garden, chickens, sheeps…), Clara with her herd of goats that maintain the firebreaks and her small cheese shop, and Sonia and the team in caring for native seeds and plants to promote sustainable agriculture tied to the land. These are activities in nature, where you live in tune with the cycles of the year, the cold, the heat, the rain…and with close contact with animals and people.

Condições: We are located in a very small village. The village is located one hour and a half by car from Madrid city center and 2,5 hours away by public transport.
The village is a beautiful area in the mountains in Madrid, totally rural with 75 inhabitants. The leader organization will be in charge of accommodation (2 houses for you and other volunteers to live), for food and transport arrangements according to the European Solidarity Corps standards.
