Resumo: The Youth Center is the northern-most of the eight national youth centers in Finland. Youth Centers are supervised by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture in the administration of government youth policy.Our actions comply with the Finnish youth law.

Finnish Youth Centers specialize in providing a safe and nurturing operating environment for young people to experience, learn, and have adventures that encourage personal growth. Our values are equality, community, tolerance, multi-culture, respect and protection of life and nature, social, mental and physical wellbeing.

The organization's main actions all year round are different kinds of national and international camps with nature, teamwork, and sport activities. We also arrange and host small events and cooperate with municipal youth work and local associations. Our international youth work includes Erasmus+ youth exchanges and projects, and ESC volunteer projects. At the same time, Vasatokka is also Nature Holiday Center and offers accommodation and different kinds of guided nature and sport-related activities for individual groups and tourists.

• Able to follow schedules, since it is important to be on time when there is a certain timetable.
• And be flexible when changes happen.
• Has an adventurousand curious to learn and let's go for it!,attitudetowards everything this project holds.

Tarefas: The hosting organization is the local hangout place for the kids after school. It’s a cozy corner in school with acces to the sportshall, kitchen and other facilities. You will be preparing, from scratch, activities for them to attend.

The last Saturday of August (29.8.) is Finnish Nature Day, and it’s also a national Sleep Outdoors Day.We hope you can help out with afamily-event. Work consists e.g. organizing outdoor activities for families. There would be a possibility to sleep the night in a hammock, and explore the beautiful northern surroundings. Equipment and introduction for sleeping outdoors will be provided.
On the third week volunteers help organizing outdoor adventure competition event for the local secondary school youngsters, called Wild Race, which will be arranged for 5th time on Fri11.9.
There can be also other additional work tasks.
Also, volunteers make social media content to organization´s channels to make the project visible.

There will be also work during weekend and free days during week. Work days last 5-8 hours. At free time, it’s possible to rent Youth Center rental equipment, such as canoes or mountain bikes, for small price, 8€/day. Youth Center Game room, Sport hall, and fire-huts are also available to use when they are not booked for customers.

Condições: Accommodation
Volunteers will accommodate in hostel-like apartment with 3 bedrooms, shared well-equipped kitchen, common living room area, shared showers, and toilets.
There will be 2-3 people per bedroom. From volunteer, it requires patience and flexibility, as you will share apartment and room with other people during the whole project. Sauna is in different building and will be booked for certain evenings.
Bedlinen and towel are provided, and there is laundry machine in youth center.
Please Note that there might be a change in accomodation half way through the project as the venue has been booked, but we have reserved another possibility just in case. We will let you know asap

Food
Whenever there are customer groups in the youth center that have meals included,
volunteers will have ready meals in center’s dining room. For those days when ready meals are not served, volunteers cook by themselves in the apartment and shop groceries from Inari village. Volunteers select a couple of people from the team to plan a shopping list and shop groceries for the whole group. The leader organization provides food money. The amount of food money depends on how many days there are without ready meals.
