Resumo: The hosting organization is one of the largest independent educational organisation for international cultural exchange. Seventyfive years ago, committed citizens founded the organization, born out of the trauma of the Second World War and driven by a desire for understanding. These origins continue to shape the organizaion goals to this day: promoting international understanding in the spirit of humanity and tolerance.

Supported by many of its approximately 1,500 members and volunteers, the organization now employs 24 full-time staff. As a recognised institution for further education for young people and adults, it pursues the goal of promoting cultural understanding between people and nations through educational events, twenty-seven voluntary country circles, political seminars, language courses, study trips and international encounters. It aims to motivate people of all ages to engage with other cultures, to discover common ground through discussions, travel and languages, and to learn from each other.
The organization pays particular attention to European integration. As a recognised European Academy, it organises seminar series and events on European development, study trips, and cooperation events with European partners.
Since 2013, the Auslandsgesellschaft.de e.V. has been the sponsor of Europe Direct Dortmund and the regional service centre of EURODESK.

The organization is a member of numerous associations, e.g. the Society of European Academies (GEA), the Working Group of German Educational Instititions (AdB), the European Movement e.V., the Working Group of Private Institutions for International Encounters and Educational Work e.V., the State Association of Adult Educational Centres and supra-regional state associations. As the organization performs numerous other tasks, the ESC is not one of its core tasks, but is nevertheless highly valued. For this reason, the ESC is activly supported by several employees.

Perfil: Our expectations: Age between 20 and 30. Very good German language skills (B2 or C1). Interest in international exchange, study trips, youth travel fairs.

Tarefas: The volunteers assist in the International Exchange Department. There, study trips to numerous countries are prepared, as well as youth exchange programmes. In addition, the department advises interested parties on exchange programmes and opportunities. Here, experience can be gained in how exchanges and trips are organised. This also includes working as a team member on a study trip.
The volunteer can plan and carry out their own small study trip as a separate project.
Further training at events organised by the organization according to interest. The working hours are 30-35 hours per week. 30 days of holiday.
