Resumo: (Volunteering teams project)

Since 1986, arco has been connecting different pedagogical approaches to work efficiently with children, international youth, and adults. arco's holistic approach is based on three pillars:
- traditional interactive pedagogy at its core,
- tightly paired with sports and gestalt therapy,
- smoothly transitioning to play and theatre pedagogy.

This cross-cutting of diverse methods requires from arco and our participants to be highly flexible, alert, and ready for action. Equipped with simple materials, we create an environment with scenarios that participants can then take into their everyday. In many projects, we put the movement (Bewegungsansatz in German) at the forefront of the development process.
Going hand in hand, movement boosts education. For example, the usage of body language and pantomime can support language learning. Overall, arco's approach leads to the development of the following skills:
- independent and self-responsible acting
- Learning to explore and to perceive it as leisure and enjoyable work
- consequent work for a targeted aim
- Learning about oneself and others with fun
- conflict handling and autonomy - Living and working together in a group
- Intercultural learning – Media work arco is an institution for lifelong learning.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

We are looking for young, motivated individuals who are: interested in theatre, circus and creative expression motivated to work with children and young people in a hands-on way open to intensive group living and working in an international team physically active and interested in movement-based approaches willing to engage in a mainly German-speaking environment, especially in the work with children Participants should be open-minded, reliable and ready to take initiative. The project requires a high level of group responsibility, flexibility and the ability to balance individual needs with the needs of the group in an intensive shared living and working environment.

No prior experience or German language skills are required. However, basic German knowledge is an advantage, and we aim to build a team where at least some participants feel comfortable communicating in German. Motivation to improve or pick up some German during the project is essential.

Tarefas: For two months this summer, participants will live and work together in an intensive international group setting. The project combines artistic practice, intercultural exchange and practical involvement in cultural activities with children and young people. Volunteers will alternate between creative work within the team and supporting local theatre and circus-based projects, contributing to playful and expressive learning environments.

Alongside these activities, the group will collaboratively develop and present their own artistic performance. The creative process is based on collective decision-making and will explore themes connected to contemporary European and global realities. The project is designed as an intensive learning-by-doing experience, where artistic exploration, teamwork and shared daily life are closely connected.

Horário: Working time averages 35 hours per week over 5 days. Participants are entitled to 4 vacation days. Weekend activities may occur as part of the working schedule.

Condições: Accommodation is organised by the hosting organisation. Participants will stay in shared apartments with shared rooms and basic living conditions. Please note that accommodation may also include staying in tents (e.g. at a campsite). Volunteers receive a monthly food allowance and pocket money according to Erasmus+ regulations. Travel costs are reimbursed based on distance bands, and a local public transport ticket is provided.
