Resumo: (woodworking)
Join Wood Stock ‘26, a creative and hands-on workcamp dedicated to woodcraft and reuse, set in the unique surroundings of our castle.
This project invites you to work with your hands, share skills and give new life to wood through renovation and upcycling. From restoring traditional wooden window shutters with ecological DIY paint, to creating furniture from reclaimed pallets, you’ll help preserve the character of the place while embracing sustainable practices. A project rooted in craftsmanship, creativity and collective energy!

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Participants will mainly work with wood, focusing on renovating the castle’s wooden window shutters. This will involve repairing damaged elements, fixing hinges, sanding, treating surfaces and, and crafting new shutters when needed. They will also prepare their own paint made with flour and natural pigments. In parallel, the group will design and build simple, functional furniture from recycled pallets. Tasks will include dismantling and preparing wood, taking measurements, cutting, assembling and finishing. This project combines manual skills, teamwork and creativity, offering a practical introduction to traditional and sustainable woodworking techniques.

Condições: You will be accommodated in various shared sleeping rooms for 4 to 8 people at Château du Créneau. Please note that Wi-Fi is not available on site. You and the other participants will prepare the food in the château kitchen in groups, with the support of the kitchen supervisors. The majority of meals are vegetarian, with two meals per week containing meat and/or fish.

LEISURE
Weekend activities are organized collectively with the whole group. Are you more of a city person? The towns of Vichy and Moulins are only forty kilometers away! Or are you looking for a country stroll? Feel free to explore the surrounding area on foot or by bicycle. You can discover the landscape, heritage and local craftsmen, take a swim, or enjoy sports, and leisure activities and outings.
