Resumo: International Center for Protection and Promotion of Women Rights "La Strada" is situated in the capital of Moldova – Chisinau. Chisinau is the main administrative, economic, scientific and cultural centre of Moldova. The city has just over 700,000 inhabitants and the whole metropolitan area is roughly one million inhabitants. In terms of number of inhabitants, Chisinau is the largest city of the country.

Chisinau is divided in five administrative sectors; Botanica, Buiucani, Center, Ciocana and Riscani. It is often referred to as the greenest city in Europe due to the high proportion of well maintained green spaces. "LA Strada" has a middle size office, where everyone has a working place and a special working place for volunteers with access to materials, Internet, etc.

The office is easy to access from any district of Chisinau, and it's located in a walking distance from the main historical and cultural points of Chisinau, what wil let volunteer explore the city on its way to the Centre. In every district of Chisinau there is access to city transportation, shopping centers, hospitals, banks, police units, post offices, sport clubs, cafes and restaurants, night clubs. In Chisinau the volunteers can benefit from a wide range of low budget-free time activities, for example students' cafes, informational centres with free access to libraries and Internet, alternative art clubs and houses.

Volunteer will live in a host family or volunteer's flat with shared kitchen, toilet and bathroom. Also volunteer will have access to the land line phone in their accommodation. Internet can be accessed in the internet cafes and wifi spots in the city, also some volunteer flats have internet access at individual basis. Depending on the district of the city where volunteer will live he/she can reach the center by foot or by public transportation.

Volunteer will receive pocket money, food and local transportation allowances from host organization, our "contact point for EVS". Normally upon arrival, a volunteer is picked up by the mentor and is brought to the place of the accommodation. For better adaptation host organization provides volunteer with on-arrival orientation, volunteer receive map of the city, dictionary, intensive language course and are enrolled to on-arrival training. Host organizationalso arranges first meeting at the Center in order to get to know the Centre, staff, beneficiaries, activities also to discuss rights and responsibilities of the volunteer and the schedule of volunteer's working week.

Perfil: Volunteer is chosen on the following recruitment critetia:
- First of all we expect our volunteer to be very motivated to learn local language as the proposed activities imply a lot of communication with local community.
- Flexibility, creativity and some experience in administration work will be an asset.
- To express the desire and activism from our activity.
- Knowledge of Russian or Romanian would be an advantage

Tarefas: PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR EVS VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers will be mostly engaged in the Anti-Trafficking Peer to Peer Educators Programme (PEEE). The PEEE program was started in 2004, since the beginning of "La Strada" Center activities, there were several trainers who were going in the areas to conduct information sessions for young people, as a result, the large number of requests led to the creation of the "Peer to Peer Educators Program". PEEE is part of the of the Resource Center whose mission is to ensure transparency of the information system via providing large access to the information for the potential migrants, including the liaison with the clients into the information sources through direct and indirect support.

Almost any activity requests the involvement of volunteers, whether it's for certain events (trainings, conferences, seminars, etc.) or activities of the peer to peer educators. The role of volunteer will be to support the local volunteer coordinator to realize of social initiatives in the above mentioned programme. The host organization offers the possibility to gain knowledge and skills in the design, implementation, and marketing of social initiatives such as: finance, promotion, technical assistance. The volunteer's task could be different depending on ability and willingness to engage:
1. Helping in organizing social projects with local volunteers: organization, monitoring, perform photographic documentation, perform evaluation of projects ( e.g. meetings, trainings, courses). The work will be out and indoor.
2. The work in the office: to lead correspondence by e- mail, technical assistance.
3. Promotional activities: updating web page, participation in social events, writing articles, taking photos, creating and printing a bulletin, creation of promotional materials: videos, leaflets, posters.
4. Activities for fundraising in support of our direct services (an EVS volunteer with clerical skills can serve our foundation by helping in the office with simple administrative duties; fundraising responsibilities can range from preparing mailings or thank you letters to organizing fundraising events and contacting possible donors);
5. Running their own activities, e.g. presentation of the culture of their country, hobby) for different local volunteer groups and institutions.

La Strada is managing a group of 27 active peer educators specially trained and engaged, on voluntary basis. This volunteers are involved in different anti-trafficking initiative held by International Center "La Strada". The educators undergo permanent capacity development activities organized by La Strada team as well as monitoring and evaluation for quality assurance purposes. Peer educators are involved in outreach activities and implementation of awareness campaigns. Volunteers that will develop their activity at the Centre will benefit from special training in following fields:
- prevention of domestic violence
- prevention of Trafficking in human beings
- on-line safety and commercial sexual exploitation of children

Condições: Volunteer will have a supervisor, that is a volunteer's coordinator, that will introduce volunteer into work, provide with support all through the course of project, will meet with volunteer on the regular basis for evaluation of volunteer's work and setting up future tasks and goals on the basis of evaluation forms designed by Centre for its volunteers. Besides volunteer will work in the team, get to know the local volunteers from Chisinau and on the national level what will positively contribute to volunteer's integration into the team.

Host organization as our "contact point for EVS" provides mentor support to volunteer. Mentor is selected in advance among young people who expressed interest in mentoringl. Mentor is provided with volunteer's profile and is informed about all the practicalities and responsibilities/rights of mentor. Mentor is a young person, who is interested in communication with young people from Europe and who helps volunteer to integrate into Moldovan community, especially during their first weeks in Moldova. This includes the email discussion before the arrival, meeting in the airport, help to go to the flat, host organizationn office, Hosting Organisation location, help with the doctor, if needed, other technical stuff and of course help with social integration: introduction to local friends, explaining about local traditions, rules, entertainment and cultural places etc.

Host organization will provide the volunteer with 42 hours with the language consultant during the entire project. Volunteers can choose to learn Romanian or Russian language. The language consultants will be meeting with the language consultant every week , at first - two-three times per week for intensive learning and introduction into the language and than once or twice a week depending on the need of volunteers and will have practical exercises or discussion on different topics. Volunteers will have the chances to practice the language with their Romanian/Russian speaking mentors through non-formal interaction.
