Resumo: (Volunteering teams project - Stone & Story: Castle Renovation)

The leader organization is a non-profit organization offering remarkable experiences, personal development and meaningful spending of leisure time for young people, through international voluntary activities and non-formal education.

Our vision is to have active people with healthy self-confidence, tolerance, critical thinking, general overview and willingness to help those in need.
In Slovakia, we are the only organization of its kind, established in 1993. Our activities are for young people, leaders, youth workers, volunteers and also the general public. The main target group is young people from 15 up to 30. The activities are focused on the youth mobility and non-formal education. Main aim of volunteering activities is to provide help to the local community or to any project necessary (social, environmental, renovation, cultural etc.). Young volunteers can spend their time valuably, can meet other people coming from different cultures, learn from each other, gain new competences and enjoy their lives differently.

Main activities of the organisation are:
1. Volunteering activities
- one day volunteering activities in Slovakia
- weekend volunteering activities in Slovakia
- international volunteering activities (workcamps), in Slovakia, abroad or online
- European Solidarity Corps (as supporting, leading and hosting organisation)
- long-term and mid-term volunteering projects

2. Educational activities
- one-day educational activities
- accredited trainings for leaders of workcamps
- international trainings
- youth exchanges

3. Promotional activities
- online promotion of volunteering and non-formal education
- offline promotion of volunteering and non-formal education

4. Development of international volunteering in Slovakia or abroad.
Thanks to membership in the international networks Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations and Service Civil International, we offer volunteers more than 1400 projects in 80 countries around the world. The Youth Council of Slovakia is our umbrella organization in Slovakia.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
male

Young person from EU member country, age 18 to 30 who want to take part in an intercultural project in Slovakia. Personal motivation to step out of the comfort zone and become a volunteer for 2 weeks. Speak good English. As the revitalization of the Castle is in its beginning, the volunteers will be helping in the forest. There is no toilet in the forest. In order to reach work place it is necessary to walk up to the hill for 30 minutes.

Tarefas: Volunteers will be helping with revitalizing the old ruins of small Castle in eastern part of Slovakia. The Castle was a medieval castle. Nowadays there are only ruins left underground. Be aware that you will not be able to see castle. Goal of camp will be to explore the foundations of castle tower, which are located below the surface. Work will be part of archeological research.
Volunteers will also be involved in renovation work, cleaning area, transport of material (like sand, rocks, and water). Volunteers will learn about history of castles in Eastern Slovakia. In case, there will be a cultural event, volunteers will help with its organization. There is possibility that volunteers will help also at other castle. No building and archeological experience are needed.

Condições: Volunteers will sleep in the local town house. Accommodation is simple. Please do not expect hotel standards. Volunteers will sleep in shared rooms on beds and mattresses. Shared bathroom with shower, toilet facilities, washing machine and fully equipped kitchen are provided in the house.
Volunteers divided in the kitchen teams will be in charge of preparing the food for breakfast and dinner, the groceries will be provided.
The lunch will be provided by local partner.
On request, vegetarian meals can be provided. Transport arrangements will be shared with accepted volunteers in the infosheet.
