Resumo: (Promoting culture and reading in municipal library)

The Municipal Library is a public institution responsible for housing more than 50,000 books and making them accessible to the inhabitants of this city. It also organizes concerts, technological workshops, book discussion clubs, language courses and other events thought with the aim of reaching all age groups.

There, two volunteers support the staff in the preparation and running the activities and manage the library’s social media channels (such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube). They are also invited to develop their own initiatives, especially if they add some intercultural dimension to the library program. Interest in Polish culture and literature is an important aspect.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Volunteers will be supporting the staff in the preparation and running of activities aimed at readers and inhabitants. They will create content and manage social media, such as TikTok and Instagram. They will also have the opportunity to realize their own initiatives, especially those adding an intercultural dimension. Examples of tasks:
- Supporting events such as excursions, workshops, and concerts
- Organizing educational activities such as language cafes and meetings at high schools, handicraft, and STEM workshops - Promoting reading and organizing meetings with children
- Taking photos and creating videos for Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.

Condições: Location
The library is located in a small town. It has a population of around 17,000 people and it is a picturesque old town that volunteers will enjoy visiting.

Accommodation
The two volunteers share a flat located 15 minutes away from the library. It has a living room with an open kitchen, a bathroom and a shared bedroom.

Food
The volunteers can cook their own meals in the kitchen after having bought their groceries. To do that they will receive a food allowance of 150 euros per month.

Transport
This is a small town, everything is accessible on foot. To travel to Warsaw, volunteers must take regional buses. The travel takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes, please note that personal travel costs are not covered by the European Solidarity Corps.
