Resumo: (environment)
One of the areas of activity of the hosting organization(hereinafter referred to as the Directorate) is nature monitoring and research, monitoring of rare and endangered species, monitoring of changes in natural habitats and maintaining the stability of particularly valuable natural habitats (nature management).
Another area is the maintenance of cultural heritage sites. The organization also performs functions necessary to ensure the visitation of the protected area and cognitive tourism: planning, installation and maintenance of recreational infrastructure, adaptation and maintenance of tourist sites for visiting, collection, systematization and presentation of information about natural and cultural heritage values and their visiting opportunities to visitors in visitor centers, websites or in the form of publications. In order to ensure more effective management of visitor flows, the Directorate carries out visitor monitoring.
The third area of activity is cognitive-educational. The organization organizes educational excursions, education, natural and ethnocultural camps, traditional events and festivals, and regularly organizes non-formal education groups and activities for schoolchildren.
One of the target groups is the residents of protected areas, farmers, real estate owners and entrepreneurs, and other persons who have one or another economic interest in protected areas and with whom the Directorate has to communicate and cooperate to ensure that the goals set for protected areas are achieved. Another target group is visitors to national and regional parks, schoolchildren, and students
Perfil: Age: 18-30
One of the key purposes of the project is the increase of environmental awareness, so the candidates should be passionate about nature or environment protection, be interested in site and habitat management, willing to share their passion and knowledge with others. They should be aware of the many outdoors activities they will participate in and are okay with that. On their everyday life, they will need to walk and/or bike long distances. The project requires active learning so volunteers must be proactive and willing to show their initiative. Motivation is more important than experience.
Tarefas: The volunteer will take part and organize several activities with the aim of spreading environmental awareness and inspiring people to get together to stay in the nature, to work for the nature and to share their traditions and cultural peculiarity. We're still looking for the one that will be more engaged with the educational and touristic aspect of the park - about the guiding and lessons in the nature.
Condições: Accommodation will be provided at so called Nature School. The volunteerwill live in separate rooms in the apartment equipped with a kitchen and amenities (WC, shower). There is a WiFi internet. Nature school is located about 3 km by road from the organization office or by foot about 15 min walk by the lake.
Volunteers will be provided with a bicycles. There is a bicycle trail along the main road to the nearest (about 5 km away)to the town with supermarkets, bus and train stations, hospital and other services. There is a small grocery store as well.
