Resumo: (Daycare Center)
In our daycare centers, we primarily care for the children of students from universities and colleges in the state of Berlin. The daycare center at Humboldt University offers space for 88 children, aged from eight weeks to school entry. It is located in a protected area right in the center , with its own playground and a view of the River.
We work according to the Berlin Educational Program. We pursue a holistic approach to education and support the children by focusing on their individual strengths. In particular, the mixed-age area is characterized by the pedagogical concept of open work.
The daycare center offers functional rooms where children can move freely according to their personal interests. Each child is continuously supported by a dedicated caregiver. In the infant
and toddler area (ages 0 to 3), we care for the children in fixed groups. The youngest children are being cared for outside their families for the first time and need a protected environment for learning and exploration.
A holistic approach to education means for us that we integrate all areas of learning equally into our daily routine. Every day, the children experience music and culture, physical activity and art, exploration, crafts and discovery, as well as language and mathematics.

We place special emphasis on the socio-cultural environment. Every child is already shaped by their own family culture. The daycare center provides children with shared experiences of success and challenges that strengthen their self-confidence and foster a sense of belonging.
We support the children in becoming aware of their social values, questioning habits, and getting to know other cultures.
