Resumo: The hosting organization is a self-governing Danish educational institution. We operate on government grants and student fees and are part of the Danish Efterskole and Fri Fagskole traditions.

The hosting organization offers a unique combination of general and vocational education for young students aged 14 to 18 years. Our students live at the school, sharing both study and everyday life in a close and active community.
The school has two educational branches:

The hosting organization offering 9th and 10th grade programmes focusing on academic subjects, sports, creativity and personal development.
+ offering practice-oriented study lines such as Crafts & Design (Kloge Hænder), Gastronomy & Bakery, Style & Wellness, and Business & Event.
+ follows the Grundtvigian philosophy, emphasizing openness, equality, responsibility and community. Everyday life combines academic learning, craftsmanship, creativity, sports and movement – all rooted in personal growth, fellowship and active participation.

We are a community of around 140 students and 30 staff members – teachers, trainees, visiting professionals and volunteers – all contributing to the unique atmosphere.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Experience in teaching or youth work is a strong advantage.
It is important that the volunteer is mature, responsible and able to take initiative in a busy school environment.
Living and working at a boarding school means being part of a dynamic and social everyday life.
The volunteer must therefore enjoy working with young people, be ready to make independent decisions, and have a genuine desire to contribute to the life and community of the students.

We warmly welcome volunteers from all nationalities and backgrounds.
To be an active part of our community, it is important that the volunteer can communicate clearly in English, as this is the language used with both staff and students in many situations.

Additional language skills are highly appreciated – especially German, which is a great advantage in our school context.

Other languages, such as Spanish or French, are also considered a plus and can even be included in classes or cultural activities if the volunteer wishes.

We value curiosity, openness and a genuine interest in sharing language and culture as part of the everyday life at the organization.

Tarefas: The volunteer will be part of a vibrant boarding school community with both general and vocational education for young people aged 14–18.

The volunteer will have the opportunity to participate as a teacher’s assistant in different subjects or create his/her own elective course based on interests and skills. Current electives include badminton, art, table tennis, challenge, dance, fitness, football, gymnastics, arts & crafts, handball, media, music, psychology, horseback riding, swimming, woodworking and metalwork.

In addition, the volunteer can arrange and take part in social and cultural activities outside regular classes such as movie nights, sports tournaments, or international evenings.

The volunteer will have regular meetings with a mentor to set learning goals, reflect on progress and co-develop new activities in relation to personal interests, talents and the school’s ongoing projects.

Typical tasks at the organization include:
+ Practical work together with the school caretaker or in the kitchen.
+ Support in teaching activities such as language, sports or creative classes.
+ Collaboration on evening and weekend events for students together with staff.

Horário: Working hours: 30-38 hours/week

All volunteers save up to 2 holidays every month.

Condições: The volunteer will stay and live at the school. The volunteer will have his/her three meals provided by the hosting organization.
