Resumo: The International Academy and Boarding School of Denmark is the only fully English-speaking efterskole in the country. We welcome students aged 14–17 who want to combine a true Danish efterskole experience with an international academic environment and a strong, supportive community.
As part of Denmark’s leading sports and gymnastics schools—we bring together Danish and international students in a diverse, multicultural setting.
Our mission is to help young people grow socially, academically, and personally through the core values of efterskole life: community, responsibility, creativity, and shared daily routines.
Perfil: We are looking for volunteers who want to contribute meaningfully to a vibrant international boarding community.
Requirements & Qualities
25+ years old until 30 yeras old
A good level of English
Preferably university educated
Motivated, adaptable, flexible
Experience working with children or teenagers
Teaching experience (recommended but not required)
Good communication skills
Interested in foreign languages and international culture
Non-smoker (recommended for boarding settings)
Interests and Skills
We especially welcome volunteers with passion or experience in one or more of the school’s core subjects:
Dance
Media & Communication
Football
Badminton
Additionally, volunteers who speak French, Spanish, or German are highly appreciated, as language subjects play an important role at the school.
Tarefas: Your tasks will vary depending on your background, strengths, interests, and professional goals. You will be part of both the academic life and the boarding environment.
Classroom Support & Teaching
You will:
- Assist teachers in classes
- Act as a guest teacher or language assistant (where relevant)
- Support students in English-based learning
- Help in language classes such as French, Spanish, or German
- Contribute ideas and creative input to lessons
- Lead or co-lead small workshop sessions
Extracurricular Involvement
Volunteers contribute actively to:
- Afternoon clubs and creative workshops
- Dance, media, or sports activities
- Small group tutoring or cultural sessions
- Project weeks or theme days
- Your background will help shape what you lead or assist with.
Boarding School Life
Efterskole life includes evenings and weekends. Volunteers help create a warm, supportive social environment by:
-Participating in evening activities
- Supporting weekend events
- Facilitating games, sports, or workshops
- Being present in the boarding community
- Encouraging positive relationships and inclusion
You are never responsible alone.
Activities are always performed in collaboration with staff.
Example Volunteer Activities
Depending on your interests and the students’ needs, you might:
Join handball training
Assist in cooking classes or daily kitchen routines
Help with animal feeding and stable care
Plan a small creative workshop
Lead a nature walk or games evening
Help prepare for weekend trips
Join music, games, or sports activities
Support during social nights or events
Condições: Accomodation
Volunteers live on campus, integrated into the boarding school community.
You will have:
- Your own room (or shared volunteer housing depending on availability)
- Access to school facilities
- Meals provided at the school
- Participation in school events and daily routines
Living on-site allows you to experience the efterskole atmosphere fully.
