Resumo: (Boarding school; Danish efterskole culture)

The school is located on the west coast, surrounded by open landscapes and close-knit communities. It is an academic-focused efterskole that prepares students aged 14–18 for the Danish upper secondary school pathway (gymnasium – stx).

Like all Danish efterskoler, the school combines residential life, academic learning, and personal development. Students live at the school during the week, take part in classes, activities, and shared routines, and become part of a strong, supportive youth community.

What is an efterskole?
Efterskoler are a unique Danish school form: independent, residential, and based on freedom in teaching and educational approach.
Efterskole education focuses on:
Enlightenment for life (livsoplysning)
General education (almendannelse)
Democratic citizenship
Personal and social development
Each efterskole chooses its own profile, values, and teaching methods, which guide the entire school year.

This school’s profile blends academic preparation with youth development, community life, and responsibility.

Perfil: Is 21+ years old until 30 years old
Is kind, patient, and responsible in interactions with students
Enjoys sharing skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm
Is friendly, outgoing, flexible, and engaged
Speaks German (strongly preferred)
Has at least basic English
Is motivated to take part in youth education and boarding school life

Personality is important—students respond best to adults who are calm, warm, and genuinely interested in them.

Tarefas: As a volunteer you will become part of both the academic and boarding aspects of the school. Tasks are adjusted to your skills, interests, and background.

Your main responsibilities include:

Assisting in German language classes
- Conversational practice
- Cultural input about German-speaking countries
- Supporting students with tasks and exercises
- Helping plan lessons (if desired)
Supporting other subjects or activities based on your skills, such as:
- Language
- Sports
- Art
- E-sport
- Creative or personal development workshops
Collaborating closely with teachers in the classroom
Helping create a positive, motivating learning environment

Boarding school involvement
Since the school is residential, volunteers also participate in:
- Some evening presence
- Occasional weekend activities
- Social events, workshops, or informal gatherings with students
These activities help build trust, relationships, and a sense of belonging.

Condições: The volunteer will preferably live with a host family, providing:
- A warm introduction to Danish culture
- A support network outside the school
- A stable home environment

Alternatively, it may be possible to live at the school, depending on availability.
Meals are provided at the school, and volunteers are welcome to join daily routines and community events.
