Resumo: (Residential school; Special needs education; Independent living support)

The hosting organization is a residential school for young people aged 17–20 with severe learning disabilities. Students attend for up to three years and come from across Northern Denmark. Each student has their own room and belongs to a family group of up to 13 peers.

The school provides a specialized educational program, tailored to each student’s abilities, needs, and challenges. Because our students cannot complete mainstream youth education, the school focuses on practical life skills, personal development, and social participation.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Kind, patient, and motivated to work with young people with disabilities
Ready to take part in daily life, routines, and activities
Open to learning from staff and experienced social workers
Positive, reliable, and comfortable in a close community setting


No specific professional background is required — attitude and motivation matter most.

Tarefas: Your role may include:
- Supporting students’ daily routines and independence
- Joining classroom activities adapted to students’ abilities
- Participating in workshops such as:
Art
Music
Nature and outdoor activities
Sports and health

- Helping in the school’s protected workshop, where adults with severe learning difficulties engage in art, theatre, cooking, and maintenance
Taking part in social activities such as:
Playing games
Going to the cinema, café, or shopping
Accompanying students on trips and excursions
Supporting evening or weekend activities

Volunteers work closely with teachers and social workers, who provide guidance and support throughout the stay
