Resumo: The Shelter is located in Vilnius city centre, near the Bus station. People who come there have social difficulties, they may have alcohol dependence or they are jobless and living in a street. Homeless people live in the shelter, here are also some activities proposed for them. They are coming to the shelter for social activities, there’s day centre where they can have workshops, and they are spending night in the shelter, too.
The stuff is composed from young people who are working in an innovative way with social disadvantaged people.

Perfil: EVS volunteer in the Shelter should be responsible and show his/her initiatives. Good English is a priority. Even basics of Russian language would be perfect (but not necessary!), because the target group speaks mostly Russian. We are waiting for young people who are motivated to work with such people, who are not afraid of challenges and who want to improve their social skills. Homeless people are not motivated all the time to participate in the activities the stuff and the volunteers suggest so it‘s important to be patient.

Tarefas: The main tasks of volunteer:
• to help in organising some work therapy activities, various handicrafts for homeless people;
• to assist stuff in developing life skills of target group;
• to help stuff in daily activities and administrative work;
• to organise additional activities.
