Resumo: Local community:
The house is situated in Mistelbach in Lower Austria. This city is very close to the Czech border. Mistelbach is about 110 kilometres from St. Pölten (the capital of Lower Austria) and about 50 kilometres from Vienna. Mistelbach is a small city and has a population of 70.000 people.
The Kolping house Mistelbach is situated next to the city centre. It will take a 5 minutes walk to the town hall square. There are a lot of shops, bars and restaurants. Mistelbach is rich of schools and other social organisations.
You can take the bus to Vienna City or you go by train. It will take you about one hour to the capital of Austria.
The acomodation for the volonteer is only two minutes away from our organisation. You can borrow a bike from us to discover the suroundings. Round Mistelbach there are many fields, soft hills and some woods.

The volunteer will join in our Kolping house lots of outdoor activities with our clients. We go by our own bus for some excursions and you can take part in the group's activities.
In each living community in generally there work two persons in support and mostly one helper, who could be from Austrian civil service. They will accompany the volunteer in her/his tasks. The volunteer will have a mentoring person for all the time, to help her/him through any difficulties or questions.

Perfil: In addition the volunteer should be
- interested in disabled people and to learn something about them
- open minded, because he or she has a lot of face to face contact with our inhabitants and with our team. So the voluneer will hear a lot of problems, will see a lot of different situations.
-able to reflect her/his feelings and communicate them (at least to the mentor).
- responsible for everything she/he does or does not
- generous to bring in her/his own skills in the volontary and let us take part of them…

Tarefas: The volunteer (he or she) should be involved in the daily work. He/she should support our team, talk with the inhabitants, care for them, sisten to them, help them by their daily activieties. The volunteer cook with the handicapped persons (for example traditional meals from the home country). The volunteer also has the possibility to plan and organise own projects for example reading lessons, football games or other activities.

The volunteer should have some different tasks, like:

" To talk and support the inhabitants
" To take care for them (support them by their daily works like houseworks,…)
" To assist the staff members with their daily work
" Beeing available for questions and problems
" Inform the inhabitants about the own courtry (traditions, culture, traditional meals, music, customs,…)
The volunteer should enrich our daily work with her/his inputs concerneng her/his home country.

Moreover the volunteer should organise projects and activieties about traditional and typical things of his/her home country - like music, games, culture and art, food, literature, customs and festivals, sports, general information about country and people, a little bit language and so on.

Together with our team the voluteer will prepare different methods, how the named topics will be presented. This could be presentations, project work, games, exhibitions and so on. Learning by doing and having fun with new topics are mein objectives in our work.

The voluteer will be responsible for his/her projects, but guided and supported by the staff.

Condições: The volunteer will get a mentoring person on his/her side as soon as he/she enters the volunteer´s tasks. She/he will be taught about all risky situations in general and in connection with inhabitants we have the knowledge at that time.
The volunteer should not work alone as long as he/she feels safe enough to work by him/herself.
The volunteer is not allowed to work alone with any person who has epilepsy all the time.
The volunteer should have an age over 18 years.
The volunteer should have a phone, if he/she goes out - and he/she should have the address and phone number of our home and ambulance/police/fireguards.
