Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-profit organization founded in Mussomeli in 1999 and it has as main objectives the promotion of a multicultural and multi-ethnic society, the dissemination of culture and values of the European community in marginal and peripheral areas such as the province of Caltanissetta, and to provide support for young people. Main mission of our organization is in fact to meet young people’s needs and provide them services for their social, professional, cultural and personal growing. Target groups of the organization are children and young people from 6 to 35 years old, and many of them are living different disadvantage situation: economic; education; social; geographical, environmental, disability.
The hosting organization is a NGO that promotes international mobility among young people. We offer them the opportunity to develop themselves through various informal and non-formal education programmes. With our work we impact our region and we also connect it to the rest of Europe and the world. All this in a diverse and inclusive environment.
This is an international volunteering project in the heart of rural, designed to combine creativity, education, and solidarity in order to generate tangible community change.
Hosted in collaboration with local organizations, the project brings together young people from across Europe to co-create educational and community-based initiatives that empower youth, foster inclusion, and strengthen active citizenship.
Perfil: • Are 18-30 years old
• Are residents of an EU country or ESC partner country
• Are passionate about volunteering, education, and community work
• Enjoy working in multicultural teams
• Are open to travelling, learning, and creating impact
No previous experience is required — just bring your energy, creativity, and curiosity!
Tarefas: As a volunteer, you will engage in a variety of non-formal education activities, workshops, and solidaritybased initiatives. Here are the core tasks:
1. Digital Awareness campaigns
+ Communicate on priority issues for the EU
+ Promote values and youth participation through storytelling and creative media
2. Language and training workshops
+ Learn new languages and share your own knowledge with the local community
+ Co-design and deliver workshops with local and international volunteers
3. Community activities
+ Support book exchanges
+ Implement second-hand markets
+ Other solidarity-driven initiatives
4. Social activities
+ Organize regular themed recreational evenings
+ Implement cooperative initiatives developed together with the local community
The experience also aims to strengthen the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, promote active citizenship, and build strong ties with the community. Volunteers will be involved in flexible and diverse activities, with clear roles and impact-oriented responsibilities, developing transferable skills, personal motivation, and confidence. Together, we will turn ideas into concrete actions.

The participant will receive a total of €11 per day, composed as follows:
€6/day as pocket money
€5/day as food allowance
Payments will be managed directly by the organization and will be transferred in euros (€) at the beginning of each month.
Accommodation:
Volunteers will be hosted in a large flat. It is surrounded by many of the historical and artistic monuments. On the ground floor there are the offices of Strauss APS and spaces for recreational and educational workshops, while, on the first floor, on an area of about 390 square meters, there is the volunteers house.
The flat has 2 entrances, one internal and connected with the offices below, one independent. House is provided with 5 bedrooms, all with windows, 1 kitchen, 2 bathroom areas, a laundry room and a large terrace. Various facilities will be provided to the volunteers: Wi-Fi internet h24, 1 TV, 1 oven, 1 microwave, 2 fridges, 2 hobs, 2 kitchen sinks, kitchen tools, washing machine, 2 washtub, iron and drying racks, 8 washbasins, 5 showers, 5 toilets, bikes and all the furniture needed to accommodate the volunteers.
