Resumo: The association is a non-governmental organization in public benefit, established in early 2010 and uniting the efforts of young people to promote common European values and capacity building in the field of youth work.
The main goals of the association are to work actively on youth projects, activities and initiatives for promoting non-formal education with a focus on human rights education and sustainable development.
The association is also focused on supporting the exchange, discussion and implementation of ideas, projects and initiatives promoting open social dialogue and equal participation of all minority groups in the social, cultural and political life of the country, as well as with the engagement of public attention and the competent authorities on the problems of social integration of various vulnerable groups in Bulgarian society.
Over the years, the team of the organization has successfully initiated and implemented projects promoting tolerance and cultural diversity and targeting disadvantaged young people in different vulnerable situations and backgrounds, LGBTI +, migrants and refugees and young people with special needs, in particular sensory disabilities. Since 2013, the team of the organization has established itself as one of the main youth training teams working on the topic of human rights education and promotion of tolerance and non-discrimination in the youth sector.
In the period 2015-2017 the organization was the informal Coordinator for Bulgaria of the No Hate Speech Movement campaign by the Council of Europe and ever since 2010 supports and holds various campaign days, street actions and events of different NGOs, municipal structures and informal groups on the topic against hate speech and the protection of human rights at the national level.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for volunteers who have an attitude towards democracy and human rights; who are curious to learn more about other ethnicities, nations, traditions and customs. The perfect participant in our project will believe that No Hate speech is a cause, worth fight for. Any previous voluntary experience is a plus, as well as activism on a local level or Human Rights youth work. We are ideally looking for someone outgoing who knows the NGO world and wishes to keep being active in it, who'd like to visit schools to spread education. Additionally, design, training or IT skills are welcome!
Tarefas: We are looking for you! Come to Bulgaria and take part in our project for 2 months! It aims at increasing the attention of young people on diversity and inclusion, combating stereotypes and their negative influence in society by the methods of Non-Formal Education and Gamification.
We have placement for 4 young people right now! The activities are in the field of human rights education and youth work and will help the participants to become more tolerant to others' needs and ready to accept diversity while interacting in a multicultural environment.
The volunteers will develop skills for public speaking and frontal delivery as they will be engaged in schools across Bulgaria in presenting and organizing workshops. They will get in touch with more than 2000 young people from across Bulgaria where we will hold workshops, campaigns, trainings and festivals for promotion of human rights, tolerance and solidarity. We will work with our new board game BARABAR too!
Condições: The volunteers will be accommodated in an apartment near the office of the organization, the center and a park. They may share a room with another person of the same gender.
The apartment is already equipped with all necessary household items for cooking, washing, etc. Our current volunteers will also be able to assist with getting to know the area. All participants in this project will receive food allowance and a city transportation card.
Monthly pocket money allowance is also provided. Once we select the volunteers, we will arrange the flights and the health insurance as well.
