Resumo: The department for Commodity Donations offers a place for European volunteers at the Second-hand-Shop including a small Café – Concept Store.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: As our team is quite diverse, the volunteer will be part of it, naturally. The volunteer with her/his ideas, abilities and creativity shall support the employees in their daily activities: e.g. provide drinks and dishes at the café-area (self-service), take commodities and make them ready for further logistics or prepare them for sales (e.g. put them on hangers), merchandise maintenance (sorting by colour, decorating,…)… Moreover, the volunteer shall get in touch with our costumers and donors as it is a important part of our work to foster these relationships. Therefore, it is important to have a good insight in the organisational goals of CARLA and – most important – start with a basic knowledge in German language at least (most of our clients have only low education and are not able to communicate in English).
The volunteer will get an insight into our social system, into our organization, into poverty and what it means and how policy in Austria handle it. Cultural exchange will bring benefits for everyone - the clients, the volunteers and the hosting department. As there are also a lot of Austrian volunteers and staff members, the volunteer can easily get in touch with Austrian youths, customs, mentality and language. Thus, intercultural learning and communication shall be the aim for both, the volunteer and the host organization!
Volunteers in our organization get support from the local contact person, are covered by insurance, take part at team meetings, are invited to events and get free further education. It is usual to offer a good appreciation and celebration culture
Condições: Accommodation
a shared flat, where every volunteer has his/her own room, while the kitchen and bathrooms are shared. The route to the working place can be reached by public transport.
