Resumo: The Hosting organization is an eco-hostel led by Legambiente Lecco itself according to environmentally sustainable values and parameters. It is located in the middle of the Regional Park, situated at 750m above sea level.
The hostel is located in an ancient hermitage, with only a small church from the 16th century being left of it. The local facilities consist in
1) the above-mentioned church (rarely open),
2) the hostel itself,
3) a bar-restaurant, which is open only for lunch on Wednesday, Thursday,
Saturday and Sunday and
4) an archaeological museum.

Being in a hermitage means that we will be isolated: we will live in a very beautiful and natural environment, far from the city life.

Perfil: aged 18 to 30
- must be a resident or citizen of an EU country
- ready and interested in living in an isolated area
- flexible and organized in order to manage working hours and activities
- ready to share the spaces and food with the team
- be open minded
- positive, peaceful attitude
- ready to have vegan of vegetarian diet
- flexibility to adapt to possible changes
- initiative, creative and respectful
- intermediate knowledge of English and strong motivation to learn Italian.

Tarefas: - Management of areas and spaces of the hostel: clean and tide up rooms and common areas, check that everything works and make them nice for guests’ arrival, (rarely) help in the kitchen for certain events.
- Outdoor activities: clean and tide up outside areas, collect leaves and check there is no garbage around, little gardening.
- Front office: support in the reception, support in checking-in and registering guests, support in selling local products from the little bazar we have.
- Events: support in organizing and preparing events, such as, markets with local products, courses, and excursions.
- Social media: we have an IG page for the volunteers and one for the hostel. Volunteers manage the first one and support in managing the second with pictures, ideas, videos.
- Art and personal competences: any type of art or talent or competence is welcome and well received. Every person that participates at the life of the hostel leaves their own little footprint!

Horário: Volunteers will have activities for maximum 35 working hours per week.
Volunteers will have activities 5 days per week with 2 days off (not always Saturday and Sunday).
Volunteers will get 2 days of vacations per month.

Condições: Accomodation
Volunteers will be hosted in an apartment with kitchen, living room, shared bathroom, and shared bedroom in the very same building of the hostel. The apartment is located behind the reception and not accessible to guests. ESC volunteers will share the apartment with other volunteers from Workaway and employees.
There are no public means of transport that connect the hostel with the closest town, which is 5 km far away from the hostel.

The meals will be mainly vegetarian or vegan - a decision taken in line with our values and the topic of the project, since a large consumption of meat is not environmentally and ethically sustainable. We promise meals will provide you a good deal of variety and will be tasty even to the omnivores, though (we are still in Italy! :)

Free WI-FI is available at all times. Once you arrive at the hostel, we will provide you with the password and other information.
Towels and sheets, hairdryer, basic soap, and shampoo are provided (unless you need something specific).

Support
Food and accommodation is covered by the European Commission; you will have health insurance, pocket money (6 euro per day).

The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission
