Resumo: The hosting organization is a civil society organization, which was created in 2023.
The organization's vision is the sustainable social and economic development of the region, the empowerment of citizens and youth at the local, national and international level, the promotion of the cultural and natural identity of the municipality and their promotion abroad.
Through its activities, the organization aims at fostering intercultural dialogue, promoting the principles and values of democracy and human rights, through educational, recreational and voluntary activities.

Some of the organization’s core objectives include:
-Study of the area's problems and the practical assistance of the competent actors in the execution of all kinds of projects in the area
-Cooperation with civil society actors, the municipality, as well as on interregional level with other parts of Greece and abroad, so the goals of the organisations can be best achieved, disseminated and become sustainable on local and international level.
-Realisation of plans and actions to improve the lives of citizens
-Cultivation of the inhabitants around the values of democracy, European Union, human rights, respect and active participation in the decision-making process
-Promotion of non-formal education
-Research, study and protection of the local cultural, folklore, environmental and historical elements
-Empowerment of local youth and people with fewer opportunities

Perfil: Volunteers will have to be 18-30 years old and be genuinely interest in the project.
Knowledge of English language is going to be considered, as it will be the main communication language for the project but will not be a pre-requisite. Thus, at least a basic English (or Greek) language level is required, for volunteers to have at least one communication language to be used in the field or in case of need or emergency. Volunteers must be ready to live and operate in a small community during the project.
Their interest in the topics of the activities and to come in contact with and support society in a more rural and quiet region is important. Furthermore, they will engage in some more physical tasks as part of the activities (e.g. external actions and campaigns, support in event implementation).
Applicants should also be aware of the ESC 12-month limit rule for their participation (eligibility and as information).

Tarefas: The project aims to support the rural communities of the municipality in the region.
The activities aim at socializing the locals, empowering youth participation and activities for children and are essential for the well-being of local society during the winter and spring period.

Tasks of the volunteers include:
- Work with children and organisation of non-formal activities for the centers of youth creative activity
- Management of local media to provide visibility and information about events and activities for the communities.
- Organisation of local events and festivities (movie screenings, intercultural events).
- Social media work and operation of the local web radio, creation of podcasts and broadcasts promoting social issues and matters of local interest.
- Support for in actions for the protection of stray animals of the area, in cooperation with a local animal shelter.
- Maintenance and operation of local community library.

Condições: Volunteers will be accommodated in a fully equipped apartment in the center of the village of Stratoni, in shared rooms. Bathrooms are also shared. The volunteers will receive individual food allowance and pocket money, at the beginning of each month, to cover their personal needs
