Resumo: Çanakkale Koza Youth Association is an active, energetic youth organization in Çanakkale which is located in North-western part of Turkey. It was founded in March 2010 by a group of young people. Target group of organization is especially socially, economically disadvantaged children and young people aged between 7-30. Our main working areas are cultural, social, sportive activities and courses. We are also working on youth policies and human rights education with over 130 local young volunteers by organizing workshops, training courses and other social activities.

Besides, we as ÇanakkaleKoza Youth Association not also takes part in national-international projects and trainings but also arranges for development of project ideas addressing social, educational, environmental and economic changes.

Perfil: The most important criteria isto have motivation to do EVS and to be able to have fun while working and learning new experiences.

Tarefas: Volunteers will take a role in youth works in the association. They will work as a facilitator in most of the activities. In the courses prepared for the participants they will help to the trainer and will also have chance to join as a participant.

volunteers will have a chance to work in the youth festivals that are held annually on the youth week (15-22 May) by Çanakkale Koza Youth Association. The volunteers’ tasks in the youth festival will be; attending in the orientation of the festival during the preparation period, assisting to the staff in momentary tasks, helping the staff in place arrangements of the festival area and the workshops’ areas, participating to the workshops and seminars, assisting the staff with logistic and technical arrangements like setting up the projectors or music systems, taking photos and videos of specific events, helping in the evaluation and assessment period like; creating photo albums and portfolio of the festival and of course having fun.

Horário: Our office opens 10:00- 19:30 Monday to Friday and 11:00 - 19:30 on weekends depending on the actual workload and the schedule of the volunteers. Volunteers will work 4-5 days a week and generally young people are coming after school time, we're expecting that volunteers will start working after 13:00 and generally in weekends. The working hours will be felexible depending on the season and projects.

The volunteers will have 2 days off per week and 2 extra days off for a month. The extra 2 days of each month cannot be transferred or saved to another month. Volunteers cannot use their monthly free days all together. As we hold the workshops and the courses in weekends, the off days will be during the week days.

Condições: Volunteers will be accommodated in a pension or a house which will be close to the organization office, max. 15-20 minutes on foot. If there will be more than one volunteer, they will share a flat/house. They will use bedroom, livingroom, kitchen and bathroom together. Volunteers will have their food in a clean, well restaurant and if they are accommodated in a house, they will have a chance to cook their own food and learn how to cook Turkish meals. They will receive their pocket money at the beginning of the week (in their first work day of the week). Some activities would be little far from the city center; in that case, they will have bus tickets or other transportation opportunities.

During the project there will be a mentor who will take care of all the needs and expectations of the volunteers. In addition the sending organization will be regularly informed about the developments after the monitoring and evaluation process once a week / a month. The monitoring and evaluation sessions will enable to intervene any problems in time and take necessary precautions.

Formação: The volunteer will have at least 4 hours Turkish lessons per week and will have the opportunity to take part in many social and cultural events organized by Çanakkale Koza Youth Association or that they are invited to. Turkish lessons will be given by a professional teacher or a young person who can speak English fluently.
