Resumo: Our Centre of Leisure Time Activities – JUNIOR (established by regional self-government) is located in central Slovakia. Our city Banská Bystrica is surrounded by mountains, rich in history, culture and nature beauty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bansk%C3%A1_Bystrica). It is also a city where many young people come to study on our university.

Since 2003, our organization has rich experience with hosting EVS volunteers from various countries, with mainly positive experience. We put efforts to continualy upgrade the level of our project for the mutual satisfaction of our community and the volunteers. Despite, volunteers often go through a demanding process of adaptation, until they integrate in the local community and learn our language.

Perfil: We are only looking for volunteers interested in particular activities of our project. Because of our project activities, the volunteer should be a mature personality, with communicable English. For keeping diversity of our volunteers, we prefer candidates from other countries than Finland, Portugal, Macedonia, Turkey, Latvia (that we recently hosted).

Tarefas: • Living together in a flat with 1-2 other EVS volunteers
•Working in office planning and support activities
•Working (usually twice in a week) with disabled children and/or adults
•Study of Slovak laguage
•Ocasional organizing various workshops for kids and youngsters
•Ocasional presenting EVS experience, home country and personal skills to various audiences
•Occasional assisting during sport, language and subject competitions in secondary/high schools
•Development and implementation of volunteer´s own project(s)
•Nonformal and informal activities, adventures, meetings with other young people
•Vacation upon agreement

Horário: Working time will not exceed 30 hours a week. The volunteers will usually have weekends off. If they take part in activities during the weekend, they will have extra time off. For each month of their EVS, volunteers can have 2 days off (appart from weekends). Other vacations may be arranged upon agreement with hosting organization.

Condições: Accomodation:
The volunteers share a flat which is about 10 minutes walking distance from the town centre. Shops and restaurants are close-by (a 5-minute walk). There is a fully equipped kitchen in the volunteers' flat, where they can prepare meals. There are pillows, blankets and a washing machine available as well.

Local transport:
The main office for volunteer activities is reachable by feet (approx. 20 minutes walk). If necessary, regular daily transport to and from the office by bus shall be reimbursed by hosting organization.
