Resumo: (City Public Library)
The library consists of 20 branches, which are situated in different districts of the city. Often the library may be the only cultural institution in the neighbourhood. Depending on the district, where the libraries’ departments are located, our main actions concern groups of people socially and culturally excluded – in terms of not equal access to social and cultural goods, where society is rather poor (in both financial and cultural way, where dominates passiveness among people).

This Library is a modern solution - both when it comes to space, technological proposals and opportunities for spending free time. The facility has a device for self-borrowing and returning books andMemory Lab,a station for digitizing analog documents from the home archives of readers.Most of the activities are directed to young adults and parents. We organize: concerts, meetings, self developement / coaching workshops and events connected with literature. Readers will find here daily newspapers,traditional books and audiobooks, DVD movies, board games and vinyl records.

As well as separate zones for different activities (reading, having a cup of coffe, listening to music, playground for children Therefore we prepare workshops with local artists and social workers, reading aloud, making illustrations with kids, lessons how to use book resources, how to search information in internet and books, English lessons for young and older people – equalizing opportunities, dancing workshops, theater workshops, photo workshops, art workshops.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
- communicative and open for new experiences;
- creative and inventive;
- it is welcome if the volunteer has basic English language skills and is willing to study Polish;
- interested in methods of active education, open for people from other countries and cultures and willing to co-operate and work in group;
- open-minded.

We are searching for young people, who would contribute to the actions taken by the library and would like to develop his/her personality. Being interested in literature and librarian’s tasks or some artistic skills would be a positive asset taken into consideration during the recruitment process.

Tarefas: - working with guests;
- preparing and conducting different activities for groups of children/ youth /adults;
- keeping materials and space in good shape; working with books, CDs, and other library materials;
- typical librarian's work: labeling; creating displays, planning and presenting programs; books and shelves maintaining;
- organizing events and workshops of the coordinating organization Centre for Youth Cooperation and Mobility;
- preparing and leading at least one workshop per week;
- preparing and leading presentations about your country, at least 2 times in different branches of the Public Library.
