Resumo: (Nature park)
The public institution manages the Nature Park. At the head of the Public Institution, founded by the Republic of Croatia, is the Governing Board, which submits reports to the Ministry of the Economy and Sustainable Development on its work and on the work of the Institution. The head of the Institution is the director. The institution performs its activity as a public service through three internal organizational units: The Service for Protection, Preservation, Promotion and Use of the Nature Park, the Park Ranger Service and the Service for General Affairs.

The activities of the Institution are protection, maintenance and promotion of the Nature Park in order to protect and preserve nature, ensure undisturbed continuation of natural processes and sustainable use of natural resources, implement nature conservation policies and perform monitoring. In addition to the preservation of natural values and the sustainable use of natural resources, the role of the Institution is the protection and preservation of cultural heritage and traditional values of the area, interpretation and education, and cooperation with the local community.
Through its daily activities, the Public Institution communicates with the local population and visitors, and other users of the Nature Park, e.g. visitors, pupils, young students, researchers and other. Through its annual work program, the PI also includes educational programs for elementary school children, guided tours on educational trails, workshops and meetings with stakeholders, local population and universities that find interest in researching the heritage of the Nature Park. The role of the Institution is also promoting this protected area through conferences, digital platforms, newspapers and other media.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

We expect from our participant to be a nature lover, to have environmental awareness, to have interest in learning and working with people, to be responsible and committed to work, to be serious about their stay , schedule and activities, to be a team player, but also independent with their time, to be flexible and open to new ideas during their stay, to be respectful and helpful to the locals. Participants also have to be aware of the fact they will live and work in a remote village in the heart of a Nature Park so power, water and WiFi shortages can occur.

Tarefas: Visitor center experience revolves around the work of the visitor center. By learning and helping the employees in everyday work in the center, the participants will have the opportunity to learn what knowledge and skills are needed to work in a Nature Park. By spending time with Professional and Park ranger service units, participants will learn about everyday tasks, administration, law and regulation, visitor management, workshops and educational activities for schools and Park ranger fieldwork and helping the local population. Participants will strengthen their communication skills, build a stronger local community, learn about shared responsibilities and mutual support, improve their digital skills and soft skills, working with people on a daily basis.

Condições: Accommodation is provided in the visitor center in room shared with another volunteer. Room has its own bathroom. You can prepare your meals in our fully equipped kitchen (we will drive you to the town to buy the food). Local transportation to working locations is organized by Park's employees, also the transportation the city upon arrival to Croatia and from the city after departure. Travel costs to and from Croatia will be reimbursed according to European Distance Calculator.
