Resumo: (Permaculture farming, Natural building, Sustainability, mental health)

The main mission of our association is to foster care for the Earth — both in practice and theory — while also nurturing the human spirit. Our main focus areas are sustainability, holistic pedagogy, and community.
The association primarily operates on a permaculture-based family farm, but also carries out activities in other nature-based locations.
In autumn 2025, our ESC volunteers will mainly be involved in helping to develop the permaculture learning polygon and holistic pedagogical centre.
Depending on their interests, they may also contribute to our work in holistic pedagogy — for example, by preparing and facilitating workshops for young people (up to 30 years old) at our local youth centre.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
The people we are welcoming are people interested in a sustainable lifestyle, natural building, ecological farming and simple life style in nature without overwhelming luxury.
Most of our activities and also basic infrastructure (shower, toilet) is outside. This project is also for people that want to make a change in their lives, towards living in a biggerconnection with nature, or need this experience for their well-being. Our goal is that people learn how to live in a bigger harmony with nature, and also to give individuals the experience how nature can support their holistic well-being. Volunteers joining our farm/our organization also take part in our projects and will have the support to develop also their own interest in their projects.

Tarefas: The ESC activity will take place on our permaculture initiative farm, where volunteers will engage with hands-on examples of sustainable rural living and practices with a low environmental footprint. Since we’ve been developing the farm for the past six years (after being active in other communities and farms), volunteers will gain a real insight into what it takes to co-create a social and educational farm from the ground up.
The schedule will include a variety of activities — mostly practical — combined with guided explanations from different fields of sustainable practice and people-oriented work. These include holistic farming, natural construction, community living, social permaculture, social entrepreneurship, renewable energy systems, water cycles on the land, and group pedagogical processes.
An important part of the experience is also creating a supportive atmosphere and taking care of our temporary little community — making sure everyone feels well and at home.

Autumn 2025 Focus

In autumn 2025, the activities will focus on seasonal work, such as:

 Preparing the garden for winter (mulching, weeding, planting),
 Harvesting and food preservation (fermentation, conserving, storing),
 Forest work, grass cutting, and wood storage.
 Closing a wooden barn (natural building)

Volunteers will get a holistic view of what it means to grow and preserve food and to care for a permaculture garden using regenerative principles. If interested, they can also learn about the full seasonal cycle of food production — from seed to harvest — and participate in the garden across the year.
We also plan to close a wooden barn, where help will be needed in construction work.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn basic building skills and how to use simple tools. We will build a stone wall, close the barn using straw bales, and apply lime and clay plaster.

Horário: We will work 5 days a week, 2 days (weekends) are free. There are two additional free day per month.
Which we organize together.

Condições: Volunteers will live in a private or shared (with 2) yurts, that has an oven or electrical heating. If the yurt will be shared depends on the numbers of volunteers, but will be communicated and agreed before your arrival. One private accommodation is in a small, but cowsy trailer, that also can be heated. We also plan one working gathering for a
weekend – in this period volunteers will have to share the yurt with the other guests. We use compost toilets (near the yurt there is a compost toilet), solar shower (in cold periods you can use the shower in our house). There is a simple outside common kitchen, in the cold days we use the kitchen in our little family house, but within a limited time-frame. The accommodation is very simple, although in a way luxurious simple.
We will provide for special diets as much as possible. We cook vegan and vegetarian food and, occasionally, we
can also eat meat. We will have all basic food in stock, but you can also write special wishes on the shopping list.
However we do try to buy things seasonal and local as possible, but we always have a big diversity of food available.

We cook lunch together, as part of the tasks. Dinner is often self-organized from a lot of variety food available and in stock. By wish and inspiration individuals can also prepare something for all. Once a week we have a sharing circle with the hole group, where we will take care that everyone feels good.

You will receive 5 EUR pocket money per day. Your travel costs will be refunded according to your distance band and if you travel green. More info about that after you are accepted in the project – but almost certain you will have all the travel reimbursed.
