Resumo: The Organization began functioning in August 2000. The purpose of our organization is the utilization of free time, informing young people about international and national programs, and the encouragement of participation.
Our organization has a great motivation and interest to offer young people from the local community but also youngsters from different countries a wide range of opportunities and information in order to achieve intercultural experience and widen their European awareness. In this environmental project, the volunteers work with instructors of the municipality for the natural pine forest that is located on the coast of the town.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The ESC volunteer's role will be to provide additional support to the instructors and other staff working closely with qualified staff that will provide support and supervision at all time. This provides the opportunity to the ESC volunteers to share their own culture within their projects and with the local community. This will bring a new, international dimension which will benefit everyone.
In this environmental project the volunteers work with instructors of the municipality for the natural pine forest that is located on the coast of the town.

The main tasks are:
• protection of the forest and the coast of Xylokastro in weekly base (keep the forest and the beach clean from trash)
• taking care of the natural environment of the town and the surrounding villages
support the environmental activities of the municipality
taking care of parks, the small harbour, the squares and the playground in the forest
participating in activities which are prepared for and by the local community according to the seasonal needs, e. g.:
school fairs

Volunteers are free to propose their environmental activities and organise their personal project related to the main goal of the project.

Horário: The working hours are between 08.00 to 13.00 depending on the daily plan, as for the tasks, they are given by a municipality officer, each day or as a weekly schedule. They cover seasonal needs and they mostly support the main activities of the municipality’s teams.
