Resumo: (Food Bank)
The hosting organization is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing food waste and supporting people in
need across Estonia. By collecting surplus food from supermarkets, producers, and farms, Toidupank ensures that quality food reaches families and individuals facing food insecurity. Work at the food bank happens during two shifts - day shift and evening shift.
Day time is 9.30-16.30, evening 15.00-23.00. In Toidupank we have a certain routine in our daily tasks, but it often happens that we do have some more chaotic days in order to get our work done.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: - The biggest helping role is to put together foodpacks and give them out to the ones in need.
- Those who own a drivers license can drive around the town to pick up donations and goods from stores and organisations. It is also a task to drive to people’s homes and give them the foodpacks directly.
- If you enjoy cooking, then you can help our chef by either cooking or help organise cooking trainings.
- One daily task is to help in the warehouse with various tasks like accepting the goods, cleaning the warehouse, bringing out the goods for giving them out and so on.
- If you enjoy photography, then you can assist with taking photos on different days when the goods are coming in, transported or food collection days in different locations.
- If you feel comfortable in each of the roles then you can also become a volunteer lead and plan ahead for tasks and teams.
We are very bilingual in the team and within those that are getting the help. So you can practice speaking different languages
you know with the volunteers in the team and also our beneficiaries.
