Resumo: The Jugendkulturzentrum (JUKUZ) is a municipal institution that carries out communal youth work in the town of Aschaffenburg. The target groups are adolescents, children, and families. The European volunteer activily assists in projects of the “Mobile and International Youth Work”. The European volunteer gets the opportunity to help create sport events, holiday activities at the adventure playground, work camps and youth exchanges.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
you have an ESC sending organization and are registered in PASS • you are crazy about sports and practice sports actively (preferably basketball and football) • you are experienced in working with young people or children • you are creative and full of ideas

Do you enjoy spending time with children and young people, inspiring them to get excited about sports? Would you like to participate in many fun and active activities with them? Then this opportunity is perfect for you!
You will have the chance to bring various sports programs through our Youth and Cultural Center to different schools. It's important that you are creative and don't lose sight of your ideas, even in challenging situations. You should stay motivated and empathetic during tough times. You will have the opportunity to fully express your creative and athletic talents. Additionally, you will have the freedom to design your own projects and activities and offer them in collaboration with professionals.

Do you enjoy traveling?! Furthermore, our center organizes numerous exciting projects where you could travel abroad/outside of Aschaffenbug with the team and kids. Highlights this year include sailing in the Netherlands, a basketball tournament near Berlin, and a trip to beautiful Tyrol, Austria – and you can be part of it, as this is also part of the job!

Horário: Possible schedule:

Monday: Supervision (BasKIDball), administrative work, mentor/volunteer reflection meeting Radio Klangbrett team meeting (5 hours)

Tuesday: Supervision (BasKIDball/football) Aschaffenburg is(s)t bunt (integrative cooking) (7 hours)

Wednesday: Supervision of sport project in a special needs facility Supervision (BasKIDball) (7 hours)

Thursday: Supervision (BasKIDball) (5 hours) Friday: Supervision (Youth Club) (4 hours)

Two hours each week are to be arranged flexibly as required by the staff in prior arrangement with the volunteer for various tasks.


Working hours and days off: The volunteer will work a maximum of 38 hours per week (approx. 8 h of the 38 h per week are set aside for the volunteer’s own creative activities or projects which contribute to the visibility and dissemination of the ESC and to improve the language skills), having 2 free days a week and 2 days off per month during the project. Days-off and holidays should be in accord with the team. As the JUKUZ has sometimes weekend activities or holiday games during Easter, Pentecost, and summer holiday, it is also possible that the volunteer has to work more hours and/or at weekends during these activities. Days-off will then be on weekdays instead and/or working hours reduced at other, less busy times.

Condições: The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance provided by the coordinating organisation (7€/day) via bank transfer.

You share a flat with another volunteer close to the centre of Aschaffenburg. You have your own room with shared bathroom and kitchen. The flat is fitted with a washing machine. Internet access is available. All costs related to the accommodation as well as the monthly food allowance of 288.00 € is paid by the hosting organisation. The JUKUZ will provide a bike for you to get around in Aschaffenburg and a local bus/train ticket.
