Resumo: (Daycare Center)

Our daycare centers primarily serve the children of students enrolled at universities and colleges throughout the Berlin area.
We offer space for up to 130 children across three floors. In the toddler area, we care for up to 40 children aged 0 to 3 years, divided into two groups. In the preschool area, we accompany up to 90 children aged 3 until they start school.

Our daycare is located in a traffic-calmed area and features a private playground. It is within walking distance of the University.
Every child has an innate curiosity to explore the world, discover new things, and express themselves. We see it as one of our most important tasks to gently support them in this journey by offering age- and development-appropriate opportunities for exploration.

Our center is open to the ideas, creativity, and imagination of children. Next to the family, the daycare community forms its own little world. We help children shape and explore this world—such as through planning our garden together.
We aim to strengthen the sense of community among the children and promote respectful interaction. This is supported by diverse group activities, such as science experiments or outings to nearby adventure playgrounds. Children learn from one another and are encouraged to explore their surroundings together, developing both motor and language skills along the way.

We foster cognitive and social competencies, placing particular focus on the areas of nature, environment, technology, and education for sustainable development. Through play, observation, and experimentation, we invite children to ask questions about their environment, their origins, and their future. We support them in finding their own answers and developing individual solutions.

Perfil:  Age: 18-30
 Open-minded and respectful of different cultures
 Confident and communicative, unafraid to speak and engage with others
 Curious and eager to learn new things
 Enthusiastic about working with children and enjoy playing, exploring, and discovering together

Tarefas: Our volunteers work hand in hand with our professional educational staff. They contribute their own strengths, offer children exciting insights into their own cultures, and at the same time get to experience life in a German daycare center themselves.

Activities include:

 Participating in daily daycare routines and supporting educational staff
 Planning and organizing small activities of their own
 Accompanying children on outings such as trips to the theatre, museums, and more
 Weekly visits to the large sports hall at the University
 Participating in all aspects of daily life: meals, nap time, morning circle, free play, projects, structured activities, and afternoon clean-up
 Optional: taking part in special

The volunteer works alongside all other educational staff members. There are differences between the age groups:
o In the toddler area (ages 0–3), children are cared for in groups of up to 18, with 4–5 educators per group.
o In the preschool area (ages 3–6), we follow an open concept – meaning there are no fixed groups. Instead, the children are supported across two floors, with around 45 children on each floor.

Horário: The volunteer works 30 hours per week, 5 days a week, during the daycare’s opening hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
