Resumo: The hosting organization is a project of respectful accompaniment in nature, through meaningful learning and democratic education. Our activities are aimed at children from 3 years old and their families. We work together to promote the children's holistic development, using beaches, forests, and parks as the setting, which offer us a changing environment throughout the seasons, full of learning opportunities. We are inspired by methodologies such as Montessori, Waldorf, Pickler, Reggio Emilia, and Pestalozzi; and we also draw on nonviolent communication and democratic and libertarian education.
Love: a feeling of affection toward others.
Peace: a state of tranquility and calm conflict management.
Respect : consideration for others. And for these three values to function and complement each other, they are embraced by six other values:
Freedom: to do or say things without restrictions (not to be confused with unlimited license).
Justice: to treat each person in a fair and just manner.
Solidarity: to help without expecting anything in return.
Responsibility: to assume responsabilities and the consequences of our actions.
Equity: implies the ability to be fair, based on the principle of equality, but considering each person's individual needs and circumstances.
Resilience: the ability to adapt and overcome difficulties.
Our values aren't goals to be achieved or fleeting desires, but rather our way of being in society; we live them.
We offer children tools for real life that we want to teach you too.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for volunteers who have the courage to dare to experience an adventure that can transform them as a person.
In addition to being able to maintain a passive observation and an active listening attitude while the activity unfolds, we want you to be able to integrate NVC, respectful accompaniment of the children's processes, mindfulness, self-knowledge, democratic participation, and a love of nature, knowing and feeling its rhythms and caring for them. We want this experience to be unforgettable for you. And above all, we want youto be eager to learn.
We also value knowledge of Spanish and English.
Tarefas: To talk about the activities, it's best to immerse ourselves in the rhythms of the project!
Every day is different because our meeting points vary between the forest, the beach, or our shelter. At our meeting point, we welcome the children and begin the day with a round of feelings where we share how we feel and what's happening as agroup. We make decisions for the day and the week. Each day, we offer a suggested activity, then we have breakfast together. After that it's time for freeplay, where they can play freely without intervention but under the passive observation of the guides.
To close the day, we gather in a circle to share our emotions, talk about how the day went, if we have any conflicts to resolve, finish with a book, and saygoodbye!
As the group leader's support person, it's important for you to maintain an observant attitude, but with enough awareness to truly know what's happening, especially when the children need it most. Forming a team with the main leader is key tolearning, and it's important that you are always willing to collaborate with her. And you'll have spaces to co-create!
