Resumo: The hosting organization is a local and independent branch of the Italian Catholic Association of Workers (ACLI), dedicated to fostering social inclusion, education, and community development in Calvisano, Northern Italy. Our mission is to empower individuals and families, particularly those in vulnerable situations, through a diverse array of supportive activities.
Our core activities include:
- Educational programs: we offer enriching programs for children and youth, emphasizing social, cultural, and linguistic development to prepare them for a diverse and global world.
- Sustainability initiatives: our educational garden serves as a hands-on learning environment where young people engage with sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Community collaboration: we actively partner with local initiatives to promote fair trade and responsible consumption through engaging workshops and community projects. We coordinate the town’s social purchasing group.
- Social support services: we provide essential resources and support to families and individuals facing economic challenges, ensuring access to necessary social services.
Our target groups span children, teenagers, and adults, with a particular focus on those encountering social, economic, or educational barriers. Notably, many families of foreign origin frequent our Circolo. We strive to cultivate a strong sense of community, solidarityand responsibility, offering a nurturing space for all participants to grow
The project focuses on social inclusion, sustainability, and community engagement through various activities.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for volunteers with at least a basic knowledge of Italian to help them integrate into the rural context . Their language skills will be further supported through dedicated language courses. Candidates should also have an interest in or passion for gardening, as they will actively contribute to the educational garden. Flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to engage with the local community are essential. This experience offers personal growth, cultural exchange, and the opportunity to support social and environmental initiatives.
Tarefas: Volunteers will support educational programs for children and youth, help manage a community garden, and assist in organizing intercultural and environmental workshops. They will also be involved in local events and initiatives promoting fair trade and responsible consumption. The volunteers’ role is to actively participate in community-building efforts, contribute their creativity, and develop skills in education, event organization, and sustainability. They will be fully integrated into the organization, benefiting from mentorship and training opportunities. This experience will allow them to engage with the local community while promoting solidarity and active citizenship in a rural setting.
Condições: The project provides volunteers with comfortable accommodation in a fully renovated apartment (2024), featuring spacious rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a relaxation area with Wi-Fi.
Volunteers will be responsible for managing their own meals and will receive a monthly allowance to cover food expenses. Upon arrival, they will be introduced to nearby supermarkets and given tips on finding the freshest products. For local transportation, bicycles are available, and the nearby train station offers a direct connection to town in just 30 minutes.
