Resumo: (Alternative democratic school)
- no traditional grades, traditional division into typical lessons and classes (children of different ages work together in classes);
- the school aims to support children's personal development and their interest & passion;
- the School encourages children to learn through experiments and trial and error method;
- the School hosts a lot of Ukrainian refugee children.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: - Getting to know the principles of school functioning, teachers' tasks, getting to know the specifics of work and pedagogical approach;
- Support children during activities outside the school premises, joint projectactivities, etc .
- Introducing your country (presentations, workshops, celebrating holidays and important celebrations together);
- Getting involved (in line with one's own abilities and interests) in the organization of educational projects and special events at school (eg. Dot Day, M. Skłodowska-Curie's birthday, Halloween, Christmas, Pi Day,
Darwin's birthday, etc.);
- Organizing workshops consistent with the skills and interests of volunteers (eg origami, dancing, making music together, artistic activities);
- Teaching children simple phrases, songs and basic phrases in the volunteer's native language;
- Creating teaching aids for the classes (according to own ideas and according to teachers' suggestions);
- Establishing cooperation with teachers, establishing the principles of cooperation with them and jointly defining specific tasks that will be in line with the volunteers' predispositions and interests;
- Assisting teachers in taking care of children while maintaining safety rules;
- Supporting children in developing independence (especially younger children at school, who, for example, need help in finding their own things);
- Cooperating with the teaching staff in taking care of the school's aesthetics (creating occasional decorations, taking care of the decor of rooms and corridors, creating original posters);
- Participating in integration meetings with other volunteers (including the organization of such meetings at our school and with the support of the teaching staff).
Horário: Volunteering hours are 35 hours per week (6 hours per day in host org. + 5 extra hours per week for planning activities for local events) that promote the project and the European Solidarity Corps
Condições: - Polish language course (twice a week, 4 school hours).
- Obligatory on-arrival and mid-term training in Poland.
- All the required medical examinations, 4-day training in our office to get participants started, health and safety training in host.org. are provided at the beginning of the project
- Monthly pocket money is 150 EUR a month.
- Food money is 650 PLN a month. This money is enough to buy basic food to cook at home, not to go to restaurants. Volunteer needs to buy their own lunch to eat in hosting organization.
- Reimbursement of the travel costs from the city of origin to Wroclaw and back (up to the amount based on the ESC Distance Calculator, the excessive amount will be paid by the participant).
- Local transportation card (for trams, buses and night buses).
