Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-profit organization offering remarkable experiences, personal development and meaningful spending of leisure time for young people, through international voluntary activities and non-formal education.
Our vision is to have active people with healthy self-confidence, tolerance, critical thinking, general overview and willingness to help those in need.
In Slovakia, we are the only organization of its kind, established in 1993. Our activities are for young people, leaders, youth workers, volunteers and also the general public. The main target group is young people from 15 up to 30. The activities are focused on the youth mobility and non-formal education. Main aim of volunteering activities is to provide help to the local community or to any project necessary (social, environmental, renovation, cultural etc.). Young volunteers can spend their time valuably, can meet other people coming from different cultures, learn from each other, gain new competences and enjoy their lives differently.

Perfil: Young person from EU member country, age 18 to 30 who want to take part in an intercultural project in Slovakia. Personal motivation to step out of the comfort zone and become a volunteer for 2 weeks. Speak good English.

As the volunteers are staying in the social centre, alcohol, cigarettes and other drugs are not allowed in the centre. From all accepted volunteers we need the certificate of good conduct.

Tarefas: The volunteers will organize free time activities for young people with disabilities and seniors. Young people are 18+ years old. The activities will be organized during the daily summer camp – summer activities, trips, competitions, and games.
Most of young people and seniors are on the wheelchairs.
On Saturday 19.07., volunteers together with camp leaders will plan the activities and program for daily summer camp. On the first work day volunteers will have short training how to manage wheelchair and they will get information about young people and seniors. There are no special skills required. Important is motivation and empathy. The staff of social centre will be guiding the volunteers during the work. The working hours are from Monday to Friday divided as follows: 9:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:30

Condições: Lodging will be provided in the flat. Volunteers will sleep on beds in 3 shared rooms. They need to bring their sleeping bag. Kitchen facilities, washing machine and two shared bathrooms are provided. There is also a living room with sofa and TV for free time activities. Volunteers divided in the kitchen teams will be in charge of preparing the food for breakfast and dinner. The groceries will be provided. The lunch will be provided by local partner. On request, vegetarian meals can be provided. Wifi is available. Info about traveling to the project and meeting point will be send in infosheet.
