Resumo: Villa Sant’Ignazio live-in community is a place to
host those who are unable to integrate at a psychological, moral, cultural, economic level in the
environment where they live, and who cannot find adequate answers for their problems in the public
sector. The live in community has specific rules which EVS volunteers must follow, such as: coming
back at 11 pm (otherwise they need to ask for the keys in advance), drinking alcohol within the
community or with guests is not allowed. All activities are done in Italian.

Perfil: The project is open to everybody who has a special interest and sensibility to adults in need, and could bring new energy and enthusiasm in order to improve the conditions of the guests,
contributing to maintain active their physical, mental, effective and attitudinal capacities. Once that the volunteers will be permanently in contact with adults in need, they should be open-minded, mature,available to listen, patient and have certain interest in interpersonal communication. The volunteer
should be ready to learn Italian and get deeply engaged. Creativity and spirit of initiative will also be
greatly valued.

Tarefas: General tasks the volunteer will participate in are:
(1) group activities: house assembly; sport (soccer, beach volley, volleyball); recreation during birthdays,
chorus singing, movie sessions;
(2) support of individuals: assisting guests in taking them to medical visits, or in bureucratical issues;
helping in schooling actvities; getting them involved in the management of the green spaces around
the building;
(3) organizational activities: assistance of the Head of the House and in adminitrative tasks;
(4) promotional activities: raising awareness on peace education and social solidarity (i.e. Through
school meetings, or specific events);
(5) social writing: collaborating in the communication activities and publishing of the monthly magazine
“Fractio Panis”;
(6) volunteer's own project: each volunteer will be able of creating a project according to his/her skills
and interests always supported by the staff of the organization.
The volunteers will play a relevant role as a referent for the guests and, even though they will not have decisionmaking
power or key responsabilities, they will provide a positive example for the people living in the community.

Horário: Volunteers will be working together with paid staff during these
hours, 30 hours per week; they will have 2 consecutive free days per week and one free week end per month.
