Resumo: The volunteers will work in two shelters for cats and dogs, the wildlife center and the village house where our cats and dogs are living in turns. The volunteers will have pocket money and food money. We reimburse the travel costs according to the guidelines of the program. In the shelters, the tasks of the volunteers are assisting the employed vet with practising sterilization operations, minor surgeries, diagnosing and treatment of internal medicine diseases, etc. For the wildlife center, the tasks of the volunteers are assisting the employed vet with surgeries of usually broken wings and legs of the birds, treatment of the wounds of other types of animals and nursing the orphans. In the village, the tasks are taking care of the cats and dogs, many of whom are disabled and nursing the orphan cats and dogs.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We need a vet or vet student or vet nurse volunteer

Tarefas: The volunteer will be taken to the shelter by shelter car at 09:00 in the morning and home from the shelter around 16:00 in the afternoon. The day starts with the checking up all the cats and dogs in the cages and also the ones in the intensive care unit. The volunteer will help the vet with his treatment and surgeries. The following are the main tasks:
* Cat and dog sterilization
* Diagnosis and treatment in internal medicine
* Traumatic surgery and amputation
* Post-op care
* Distemper, Panleukopenia and Parvoviral Enteritis Treatment
* Daily check-up of the patients and babies
* Cooking especially for the babies and the patients and feeding
The volunteer will eat his/her lunch in the shelter.
