Resumo: (Library)
The library was founded in 1920. Library has changed a lot over years, but the mission remained the same – to establish modern libraries close to the homes of the residents and to provide equal opportunities for all users to conveniently use all kinds of universal information resources to meet cultural, recreational, self-education and lifelong learning needs.
The library is open to all Lithuanian and foreign citizens. Currently, the library consists of five divisions and 11 branches spread throughout the city, employing 74 librarians.

A wide variety of cultural and educational events, as well as, reading incentive programs are organized for various user age groups in order to activate the usage of information resources. More and more online services are being created and improved. Library’s website, Facebook, and Instagram accounts are constantly updatedwith the newest information on educational events, activities for children, adults, and seniors, library services for people with special needs, reading promotion, promotion of local culture, new online services, etc.

In addition, by implementing cultural, educational and innovative projects, the library becomes more and more noticeable among children and youth and is recognized not only as a place to read or search for information but also as a place to spend free time, relax, learn, gain certain skills and knowledge, meet friends. Also, the library focuses on the education of users and the improvement of their digital literacy skills by teaching the elderly computer literacy and the youth high-quality information gathering. The library organizes various training activities, excursions around the library, volunteer activities, book presentations, lectures on health and wellbeing, modern art exhibitions, cultural performances, after-school programs, etc.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Volunteers who would cherish and appreciate the opportunity given to them and regard it as a valuable experience to learn and improve themselves. The volunteers should be able to dedicate their time and effort to the receiving organizations and their communities. The receiving
organizations hope that future volunteers will be active, positive, communicative, and ready to help and learn.

Tarefas: So activities for volunteers will be organized according to these topics. The main activities for the volunteer will be:
- Technologies (Virtual reality, drones, etc.);
- Technology Literacy (Digital Literacy);
- Health problems, Disability;
- Cultural differences
- Activities for children and young adults;
- Language courses (and other activities for language learning);
- Exhibitions, Handcraft workshops, Music;
- Reading clubs (Book clubs);
- Reading promotion, Storytelling;
- Sustainable development;
- Promotion of multiculturalism and multilingualism

Horário: Expected working hours: Volunteers will work 6-7 hours per day, 5 days a week from Monday to Friday two consecutive
days off per week.
Holidays: two days off per month. National Holidays are also free days.

Condições: Accomodation and board: The volunteer will live in a flat with other two international volunteers. He or she will have his/her own room and there will be common areas: bathroom, kitchen, living room. The flat is provided with heating, hot water, dishes.

The volunteer will receive monthly 140€ for food and 4€ of pocket money per day pocket money.

Travel: Trip fro your country and come back is covered by the program, maximum budgeds depends on the distance between your country and Lithuania.

Health Insurance: You will be covered with program insurance.

Local transport: Given the fact that the town is a city and there are a public transport, the movement to the place where the activities take place will be by city bus or foot. A city monthly bus card will be provided.
