Resumo: (PLACEMENT OFFICER)
The hosting organization was founded in 2001 as a non-governmental, non-profit organisation promoting environmental protection, peace-oriented activities, friendships, and international understanding among people. The main activities offered by WF are workcamps, summer camps for teenagers, exchange programs, educational seminars and eco-tours. We offer activities for participants from the age of 13.

Today the endeavour of attaining world peace and environmental protection has become a tangible possibility and the development and strengthening of bonds of cooperation and friendship through contact with people from other countries and cultures has proven to be one of the most fruitful means of achieving understanding and unity among nations. Veraldarvinir‘s main aim is to increase intercultural understanding by offering people the opportunity to take part in environmental and peace-related activities.
For participants coming to Iceland, such projects will give them a unique opportunity not only to explore and directly interact with Iceland’s unique culture and landscape but also to work with other international people and residents in challenging and unfamiliar contexts. This interaction between unspoiled nature and people from different backgrounds provides the participants with invaluable opportunities to learn more about themselves as individuals, their international fellows, other cultures, and the human and natural richness of Mother Earth.
We are also increasing our work and engagement with local communities, in order to promote the value of volunteering work in Iceland, but also to integrate our volunteering in a more engaged intercultural environment with locals.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-driven candidates who are able to work independently on projects and can bring and implement ideas and all-scale solutions to climate change reduction and sustainable lifestyles. MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides), Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets), Writing (Journalism, technical writing) An Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate level of English is required Motivated to live with other international volunteers and lead a sustainable lifestyle and fight global warming.

Tarefas: Serving as the main point of contact for the organization, your activities include, but are not limited to; Communicating with international partner organizations. Preparing and distributing documents concerning the placement procedure.
Dealing with applications of foreign volunteers applying for placements. Initiating and looking after visa proceedings for participants.
Maintaining the organization’s databases on projects/bookings/information brochures/training/information sheets. Answering any incoming requests of participants and international partners.
Collecting and controlling all payments regarding Participation Fees, Excursions, Minibus, and hostel.
Manage Social Media. We’re all about flexibility: we expect you to adapt to changes quickly and we encourage you to try new things.

Condições: During the workcamps the participnat will share a double or quadruple room in a house fully equipped. Beds are provided, however, volunteers should bring their own warm sleeping bags.
Food is provided and everyone is expected to do their fair share of the cooking and cleaning.
We provide a well-balanced and healthy variety of food products that includes a wide variety of whole grains, seasonal fruits & vegetables, pantry staples, dairy products, and vegetarian/vegan options.
Local transportation related to the project is provided
