Resumo: (volunteering team project)

The organization is a Leader Local Action Group from Northern Ostrobothnia. Our area covers seven municipalities and approximately 52 000 inhabitants who mainly live in rural areas. Our aim is to encourage local people to develop their home region; to enhance a better quality of life for individuals and communities; as well as to create new employment opportunities.
The association was founded in 1996 and it has its own strategic developing plan for years 2021 – 2027. The main themes in our strategy are closely tied to topics like vivid home region, strong businesses, the participation of youth, sustainability and green deal. The plan is carried out by e.g. development projects. In addition, the association educates, informs, activates and helps local residents to apply funding and carry out their own projects. The association cooperates with local people, and anyone can become a member of the association.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

We would like to receive active volunteers who are motivated to work together with local community. Some tasks are done outdoors so volunteers need to be prepared to work despite the weather. Working hours will change according to tasks, so volunteers need to be flexible.

Tarefas: The volunteers will work together with the local community to create activities and increase involvement. Tasks include eg.

- planning and implementing activities with local residents
- creating and participating in communal and cultural events
- maintenance of the outdoor venues (parks, playgrounds etc)

During the project, the town hosts a multi-day festival for everyone. The programme is created by local actors. Volunteers will have an opportunity to carry out own ideas during the festival.

Condições: Accommodation, food and transportation arrangements
Volunteers are accommodated in a dormitory in shared rooms. Volunteers need to cook for themselves (food allowance and pocket money will be provided).
Within the village the distances are short. If needed, transportation is provided. Train station with connections to other cities locate within short distance.

Mandatory costs are covered according to programme rules.
