Resumo: (Teams Volunteer Project)
Our field of action is that of non-formal education, which includes all educational activities organised outside of the
formal school system. We cater to many young people as well as to people who do educational work with children
and young people. The voluntary service is one of many programmes that we coordinate.
SUPERVISION AND TRAINING GUARANTEED!
We coach young volunteers in the context of their missions. Good preparation and individual follow-up are the keyto a successful mission! They benefit from a series of training courses and support before, during and even beyond their voluntary service. Some trainings are compulsory, others are not, but in any case they are all free of charge.
THE MAIN FOCUS OF THIS PROJECT IS INCLUSION
Through planned activities, the participants will learn the understanding of inclusion of people with disabilities and how it can be lived.
They will have the possibility do discover the everyday life in institutions and how their day is organised. The participants will be given the opportunity to assist the staff in their daily routines.
IMPACT ON SOCIETY
The project offers a learning ground of European cultures to a young person or a group so that they can step back from everyday life, enjoy Luxembourg and take concrete actions.
The project is intending to give the opportunity to a team of young people to experience community life, team working and solidarity in the frame of a volunteering-team-activity in Luxembourg.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
The participants must have a basic level of English and should be autonomous enough to live on their own for most of the time. They should be open minded and not have any fear of contact with different groups of people. Since the participants will be hosted in three different youth hostels, they should be flexible to move around a lot and make use of the free public transport.
Participants should be motivated to invest their time, knowledge and competences in the foreseen project. Plus, since the project offers a variety of different activities, they should be open to a different time schedule every week and contribute to the organization of the week by sharing their own ideas.
In short, the requested competences/skills : creativity, open to learn new things, autonomy and basic English skills.
Tarefas: The first three days will be dedicated to an on-arrival training. During this training, the volunteers will get to know each other, as well as the supervisors. They will also have the opportunity to meet other volunteers from a different team project, since they will be accommodated in the same facility.
The second and third week, the focus is on inclusion. The participants will have the chance to discover the life in diverse institutions where people with disabilities live, work and support the staff members on a daily basis.
After that week, volunteers are invited to plan and implement activities themselves.
During the 4 weeks, the participants will also have the time to
discover our small country on their own.
ARRIVAL DAYS (FIRST THREE DAYS)
These are like the warm-up exercises before a big game. We’ll get to know each other, learn the ropes, and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE (SECOND - THIRD WEEK)
Get ready to be superheroes! We’ll team up with physically and mentally awesome people.
We’ll work in different places, helping out and making their days brighter. It’s all about spreading kindness and high-fives!
DIY FUN (FOURTH WEEK)
Now it’s your turn to be the boss! You’ll plan and lead activities. Maybe a treasure hunt? Or a dance-off?
