Resumo: The leader organization is a European study and initiative centre founded in 2001 and inspired by the work and theories of sociologist Danilo Dolci (1924-1997).
The organization's mission is to promote innovation, participation and growth in education. The organization's work is based on research based on social needs and challenges and the use of innovative learning approaches to address these needs. The organization consists of 6 units working in synergy: Higher Education and Research, Rights and Justice, Adults, Migration, Schools and Youth.
The main objective of the project is to promote cooperationand solidarity towards and with the local community, through activities that will take place in cooperation with different associations in the area. In addition, the project will represent an intercultural learning opportunity for the volunteers and organisations involved.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
The ideal candidate is a boy or girl with fewer opportunities, due to economic, geographical, social or health obstacles, with high motivation in participating in a volunteering project.
- Motivation to participate in the project and specificactivities;
- Interest in the activities planned by the host organisation;
- Flexibility, creativity, patience, open-mindedness, teamwork;
- Proactive and positive attitude;
- Interest and willingness to face the intercultural experience proposed by the projectand its challenges;
- Interest in social issues and solidarity;
- Basic knowledge of Italian welcome but not necessary.
Tarefas: Activities will be carried out in cooperation with some local associations belonging to a network of centres with which the organization has been collaborating for many years and which provide a number of important services for the local community. Volunteers will be involved in various social work activities, supporting the teams of professionals working in the different centres. The areas in which volunteers will be able to volunteer will be: educational and care activities with children recreational and care activities with people with disabilities support services for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants support activities with homeless people and people in difficulty fostering the socio-occupational integration of disadvantaged people and promoting critical consumption
Educational and care activities with children
Tasks:
- taking care of toddler's primary needs
- proposing games and educational activities
- support with homework
- supporting the centre's staff of workers
Recreational and care activities with people with disabilities
Tasks:
- taking care of the needs of centre users
- participating in activities of daily living(cooking, eating together, taking careof the centre spaces)
- proposing recreational activities, suchas music, dance, crafts, etc.
- supporting the centre's staff of workers
Support services for refugees,asylum seekers and migrants
Tasks:
- teamwork with centre staff in the management of primary and secondary services for users, such as:
- shower service
- laundry service
- supply of goods
- legal and health support
Support activities for homeless people and people in difficulty
Tasks:
- support in the preparation of lunch offered tousers
- support in managing the kitchen
- support in serving meals
- support in the management of laundry and shower services
- supporting the centre's staff of operators
Fostering the socio-occupational integration of disadvantaged people and promoting critical consumption
Tasks:
- support in the promotion of events
- support in the creation of awareness-raising communication campaigns
- help with distribution
- support in collection activities

Condições: The volunteers will live in a shared flat in the historic centre. In the flat, the 8 volunteers selected for the project will live together. The flat consists of a kitchen, toilet, living room and 5 bedrooms. Volunteers will be provided with
double or single rooms. All maintenance costs of the house are covered by the project coordinator.
The coordinator will also provide a monthly amount of 320 €, including the standard pocket money fee (6 € per day) and a food fee, which will be provided monthly. Travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis of the amount established by the ESC.
